prisoners, capships, and fighters should be saved

Regarding saving missiles, where would they be saved? In the carrier's munition storerooms? The reason that you only have so many missiles on a mission is not because there is a shortage of missiles (aside from the WC2 mission where you fly an Epee solo to escort the transport carrying missiles to the Concordia), but rather because your fighter can only carry so many missiles at once.

Perhaps he meant that the missiles receive salvation before heading into battle, so their glowing super polymer attractor warheads make it to heaven when they go boom... or splortch... whatever sound a missile like that would make, anyway.

He apparently hasn't played WCP/SO either - the Redeemer DID rearm us in certain missions, reloading our missile loadouts as in G'wriss 1: Convoy Rescue. :D

Beyond which, if you don't use the missiles on one mission... so what? You may or may not get them back when you launch next time - after all, you're reloaded before you launch again anyways. I'm just wondering how one saves armor - it's either on your ship, or it's been blown off... and I doubt you'd be able to repair THAT in the field.

I'm just wondering how the hell a disgraced prisoner will be able to convince other Kilrathi to surrender, and how I'm supposed to shove a part for a Manta into my Vampire given the 'salvage enemy fighters for parts' with the George Washington example - which is a LOT easier to do if you and your enemy are the same species and using the same technology, and almost completely unapplicable otherwise.

George Washington should come back to kick his ass, that's what should happen.

George Washington wouldn't be able to find him. Young Joshua would just hide inside a car powered by blackfuel.

George Washington can find red coats even if they're using blackfuel. We'll have to convince Joshua we're having a costume party and the first to show up as a 1770's British soldier gets a million dollars...

Actually its kindof a neat little idea (oh good Lord, I'm encouraging him). It wouldn't be as much of a deal in the Prophecy era, but in the Kilrathi War missiles were probably at a premium at times. Kindof like a derivative of Armada managing resources, as a wing commander of a carrier, you could be responsible for doling out ordinance for missions (maybe don't know if this would be true or not). Your supply of types of missiles is finite on a carrier, so there maybe a time when instead of sending out fully loaded Hellcats, you'd have to send out flights with 4 missiles apiece to conserve your fighting ability. Also you might not be able to go out fully loaded with ImRecs, you may have to take some FF or HS instead.
It would also make missions like escorting a bit more important. Say you have to escort a transport loaded with a weapons delivery (I think there were a few missions like this in the original WC's), if you are successful, your cofers are replenished with missiles and conservation isn't such a problem. But if you fail, you have to further limit your wings missile use. Anyway, kindof a neat little idea to include more of the "paperwork" of the Wing Commander position into a game. Though it is a moot point since Kilrathi War era is the only place I can think of that this would be a relevant issue.

Why do some of you not want prisoners, fighters, and capships to be saved?

I've read those Kilrathi Codexes. But I think many Kilrathi would just ignore them and choose to surrender. I can't imagine a bunch of Kilrathi blindly following the will of the Emperor.

The missiles would be saved in the cargo bay of the carrier.

George Washington had captured many prisoners. One of his sayings was "Arms at the ready, but arms only as a last resort."

... okay, I changed my mind. The world needs Joshua, even if he's just being a weirdo on purpose.

You know Joshua, George Washington also hunted Kilrathi for their furs. They kept him really warm in the New England winters.

Don't make me send the Stepford Wives after you, t.c.cgi.

If you think about it, it's much more intelligent to save opposing capships, fish, and prisoners. The United States Central Intelligence Agency would totally agree with this. Why do you ask is it important to save prisoners, capships, & fish?
O....K.... someone please tell me I'm missing something here.

The fish can be thrown at the Kilrathi, or fired out of a super polymer missile, and thus distract the Kilrathi, for cats like fish (unless I'm mistaken).

As for CIA, aren't they too busy plotting coups to agree with anyone?

Couldn't agree more. :p

I think you need to see Academy. The Kilrathi put their honor in high regrades..Even for Non Kilrathi.
For a Human was ejected into space for betraying the Confed by bringing the Kilrathi information.

Well, he was just an honorless, traitorous, cowardly ape, so why not launch him into space.

I'm guessing they didn't eat him due to the fact that he would taste like cowardice to them.

For honorable humans, the greatest honor a Kilrathi could bestow was granted, that of honorable execution. (Like Angel)

As for the victory feast, some cultures have a belief that if you consume a valiant foe, you gain their courage and skills. Perhaps, that is the entire reasoning behind the victory feast.

That proves that Kilrathi are honorable beings, and they would not betray their emperor to easily just because they felt like he was using them.

Hey, New England rocks! I'm from New England! Boston, Massachusetts, to be exact. Of course, I'm stuck up here, in Alaska. That makes me sad, because I missed the latest CZ gathering. Boo that.

Anyway, New England rocks mainly because George Washington was there. He had quoth "New England truly rocks, but only because I was here."

<EDIT> Walk the Freedom Trail in the North End and you'll see! :D
