Paper, Paper, Everywhere (February 8, 2007)

Which ones? The ones that are already in PDF format, or... the ones that are already in PDF format? :p

Yes

It is possible, some models are already in format PDF, but most is in format PDO that is read in the software Pepakura Viewer http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/download/viewer.html, I didn't convert in PDF, for cause that I didn't prioritize to the making of instructions, since in Pepakura Viewer, there is the possibility of who is building to see the form of the pieces and the position of the same ones...

If you want some model of the done already in PDF orders me a private message

I think that Péricles is doing some great work here. Paper could be the perfect medium for high quality models.

Some none-WC paper models can be found at Fiddlers Green, the WW II and jet models are worth a look.

The reason I asked about pdf files is because their use is so widespread/common.

Thank you very much!

I agree with you the format PDF is a good impression form and popularization. Originally my models were are going so to speak of internal use of the paper modellers' community, then they are accustomed to work with the files in extensions PDO. But as he said anything doesn't cost to convert in PDF, to who wants it is enough to already order me a private that I convert the models available.

Take a look in my blog, there I am publishing the next models of the project Wing Commander ship set the address is: http://spaces.msn.com/members/VickVipper/

Thank you very much and until next time

Only the Sabre is in PDF format. Having them in PDF would be useful (maybe at least just for future models). The .pdo ones are best for home viewing and to use as a guide, but some people here might need to go to work or a print shop to print these out. PDFs would then be useful on these systems where people can't install the Pepakura viewer.

Blast, that's what I get for downloading one of them (the Sabre) and then assuming the others are packaged identically. I figured since the Sabre had a PDF, they must all have them ;).

Hello!

Good actually my time to do models is small and I try doing more the simplest possible for exactly not to need of instructions it is enough to use the software Pepakura Viewer for vaer the positioning of the pieces. I am terrible designer and I hardly know how to work with graphic software, but I promise to photograph a step the step for the close ones (Broadswords)...

As to do a tutorial, I don't know if there would be space here or in CIC to accomplish, why in spite of the modelling process and unfolding to be the same for all of the cases he can be complex, what would leave this too big article. The great same problem of accomplishing a toturial is invariably from where to get the 3d models and you convert them for wearable formats, the first games WC didn't use models and yes sprites that leaves the unviable process, then end up using models of mods of other games and the conversion processes end up being very varied using many different softwares for conversion.

But I am always open to suggestions, if there are space and demand I can accomplish yes a mini modelling tutorial and another of assembly and final finish.

In this site a great tutorial exists to work with the editor 3d that I use, Metasequoia and the program for unfold Pepakura Designer, he would give as suggestion to give a studied in him: http://www.ericksmodels.com/paper/step0.html ;)

It would be awesome if you could provide some instructions so we can figure out how to make some for ourselves.

Download the Pepakura Viewer mentioned in today's front page update and open the .pdo file with it. It should help you to visualize the construction process better.

But I am always open to suggestions, if there are space and demand I can accomplish yes a mini modelling tutorial and another of assembly and final finish.

It depends what you have time for. If you get around to making an article on your modeling process, we can definitely post it.

Holy Crapamola that is cool.. if I hadnt suddenly developed Adult ADD I would try to make those..

Seriously, very cool!

Ok Chris!

I also think using the pepakura viewer is more than enough to serve as orientation for the assembly. I still intend to do models later in larger scales with interior and landing gear integrated, good oh I think it will be necessary instructions (I intend to do Hornet and Rapier II in the scale 1/48 or 1/32) why will the level of details be larger...

As soon as finishes that first shipset (Broadswords and Dralthi VII) I am thinking about doing some larger ships (Concordia, Bengal, Gilgamesh...) I will make a tutorial then of how to prepare the model 3d to be unfolded and another of the assembly...

You give a looked then for it is been to be posted definitively.

Cheers!

Yes, those are awesome. I put together a Jrathek last night with my 85 g/m^2 paper and tacky glue, and it worked fairly well. I might try to find some paper that's just a little bit more rigid. I'm looking forward to the Broadsword you're doing soon, and after a little repainting maybe I'll try to put together a Sabre...

Now, if I could just get a Ferret and an Epee, I would be ecstatic.

Its about time someone gave the Kilrathi an equal footing on the paper-wars front... the models look excellent. I'm personally hoping for a Jalkehi from WC2.

May Lord Sivar never smile upon thee.
(cause really... smile = baring of fangs = intent to unleash a can of holy butt-whup on you. So Sivar smiling is a bad thing, and Sivar not smiling is a good thing.)

New Paper Models A-17 Broadsword

Hello!

One more concluded model, that time is the A-17 bomber Broadsword in two color schemes the model is being offered in two scales: 1/200 and 1/100 the larger scale is for popular request of person that they visit my blog or they send emails. The zips accompany two PDF sets one with fold lines and other without fold lines and with the painted flaps. To commemorate the eighth Wing Commander model that time I am offering a PDO with exclusiveness of the A-17 open and without textures so that the many talents in modelling that you/they exist in the community WC can create their own "Broads" with exclusive textures...

The next models to be built are Dralthi 7 and Dorkhati, in fact if somebody has a low poly model of him to order me I thank...

Cheers!
