Eh, Why not put a third alien race alongside the Nephilim to fight against the Terran confederation and kick their ass out of the universe ? :D :D

This may sound like StarCraft for some of us but...Origin can improve the storyline and set it apart from the Kilrathi Saga and the previous games.

This third race could be a ally of the Nephilim, the Nephilim could command and control them, they could be in war with the Confed and the Nephilim or just plain simple The Kilrathi Empire is back ? &%@!$#: more destructive and technological advanced than the Confed.

With this (new ?) storyline the Confed will be put in a defense situation all over the game or the trilogy (if they want to make it).

So, what do you think ? My imagination is soaring after playing Secret Ops after 4 years w/o playing anything from the WC universe ?
 
It would be nice for those that missed out on the freebee download of SO to still be able to get it! How dumb of them to pull it so early when it did came out then make everyone else beg and plead for it. They must enjoy it! Those @#%^$@!

Agreed, what do they gain by holding out? Release the SOs as is - no tech support. All they are doing are ticking people off especially when they still have the SO Website partially active (what a tease!). Hey, if a big company like Sierra can GIVE AWAY commercially successful games why can't EA do the same with a games that started out free!?!

Dumb of them? Plese... It was a limited offer, as in, it has a time limit…. The released it mostly as a test, not because they enjoy releasing stuff for free, and after a while they just wanted to cash in a little on it.

As for the SO site, it’s still there because it informs people about the game, and it holds the demo for Prophecy Gold.

Yes, dumb. I mean if the first episode of SO download is a demo, why arent the rest of them available, even directly from EA? They could make them available via on line order and point you to a ftp to get them, its simple! Oh well, I didnt mean to go off track on this thread, but some of the posts in this thread point right back to the same ol argument. In fact, it seems in all the threads, there is one or more posts about EA and OSI's little game of keeping us all in the dark and in effect, running WC right into a wall and to a dead stop.

To get back on track here, I think the Confed need to be engaged in several systems against 3 or 4 enemies. Now that the big war with the Kilrathi is long over, and the bugs have been exterminated, whats next? Should it follow up after SO or further in the future? I think maybe it should pick up 100 years or so after SO. This too long?

Adding a third race would be a great idea. It would add an unexpected element to the story. Just think, a freespace like campaign: confed and kilrathi team up in a hopeless defense against the nephilim. eventually, against all odds in an impossible last mission, the day is saved. for now. or is it?
 
The third race could change sides. But Daemon I don't know what your smoking but the Nephilim came to erradicate both the Confeds and the Kilrathi, just listen to the explanation of the Kilrathi Ragnarok (i cant think of its name now).
 
It seems to me there's well more than 3 species of intelligent life in WC. So what's all this "3rd race" babble?

Yeah, but you'll notice, the Prophecy Gold Link is grayed out, so I'm not sure what they have it there for. It is a nice resource for the fiction, though, which I still think is the coolest aspect of SO.
 
Hmm.. the Gold link was active at one point.. thought not in the beginning. Site may have regressed to an earlier back up or something. And there are dozens of known intelligent space faring races in WC.
 
Races

Well we got the Humans, Kilrathi, Nephilim, Steltek, Mantu, Mopok, Firekkan, The Double Helix Race, Utara, Hari, Varni, Wu, Eyoka, Jarma, Haggans, Hagarin, Gorth, Sorn, Ka and Shata.
I am forgeting someone?
Boy what a crowded universe.
 
and I forgot, seltek havent been seen in thousands of years so while they did exist, they could very well be extinct as well
 
well I we see one Seltek in Privatter, they use very advance tecnology and most likely live in the galatic core.
And the Hari comited mass suicide, but a few could be still alive.

WC isn't being run into a wall. It already has when OSI anounced that they're only concentrating on the Ultima Online franchise.

That would be stupid. The game would have to be set a long time after Prophecy/SO, which would require completly new characters to be introduced.
 
Gotta agree Earthworm, about the Kilrathi being back having to take a long time like post PII time. But also that would suck, I for one like the Idea of Confed the the Cats being allies after nearly exterminating each other.


I have an idea for a possible future wc game. In the opening sequence for WC3 Barbra Miles said that there were rumors that TCN (Terran Confederation Navy) had plans to lead humans out of the galaxy in order for the race to survive. It could be a cool game if perhaps Confed did send some people (like a bunch of transports with escorts and a carrier) out to another galaxy, and we could fly from that carrier and in the end it goes to another part of our galaxy instead of another galaxy and runs into the homelands of the Nephilim. just a thought anyway

And it could have Richard Hatch, Starbuck, and Ben Greene in it too! You must have missed the Battlestar Galatica craze - sorry Nap - it's been done too many times. What about a pre-WC1 game? One that occurs right at the beginning of the Kilrathi-Human war?
 
What would the point in that be? It would be WCP with older ships.

Well, except the fact that Blair is some guy in a war, not some god who has ended it in a contrived Hollywood type script. :)
