New ship.

Whoa ! One one the best-looking Kilrathi ship from WC2 is back... in a Vision... cool work Eder, now we gotta add this one to as many Standoff missions as we can ;)

Shouldn't be a problem - when Q asked me to model this one, he seemed to already have plenty of ideas for it. :p

Truly amazing work, congratulations! I'm really looking forward to encounter that tug again - and I'm already fearing not to be able to get rid of the smirk afterwards...:D

The first time I ran into one (SO2?), I was demonstrating WC to a friend, and he kept teasing me the rest of the week with the "giant flying ***** in that game". A sad moment for another possible fan not getting hooked, but one of the precious moments outside the game that make it all the more enjoyable.

Sorry for the nostalgia attack. (But isn't that what we're here for?)

Oh, indeed. Now we just need that other unplanned object I asked you for, and we're all set for a really great series of missions .

He should have seen the behemoth! :D

Working on it. :p

Good to see an old friend like that in the sector again. Although looks like this time around it could give us a little more run for the money...is the loadout the same? I thought I couldn't 5 turrets but wasn't sure because of the lighting...

Eder you have a real talent for turning our favorite sprites into 3d models that look amazing...

No capships have the same loadout as their WC1/WC2 originals, because there's the issue of turret coverage and blindspots here (since we're dealing with 3d models). You're right, the Dorkathi has 5 turrets, I believe it's the most heavily armed transport in Standoff. (The Clydesdale has 4 turrets, and I think the Free Trader has 2).

*gasp* Eder, in the improbable case that you might have an equally talented twin brother who's not occupied with any other project, be sure to give me a call! Actually, I'd be free of my worries if I had someone only half as good at modeling starships as you Saga/Standoff guys. ;)
Seriously now, that's gotta be the best-looking Dorkathi (note the oxymoron!) I've ever seen. Thumbs-up!

I've updated the site with these Dorkathi screenshots, and added its stats to the ships page, in case anyone's worried about getting their ass kicked by a transport. :p

Which they should be :p. Even in Academy, if you made a mission with four or five of these, the flak got pretty damn intense. And we don't need to limit ourselves to a mere five .

Yes, tremble before the mighty Dorkathi, you unworthy descendants of apes! I can already see it in my mind's eye: The ultimate humiliation - a proud Confed fighter wing being utterly annihilated by a bunch of Kilrathi freighters. And the mission title shall be: "Convoy Carnage"!
Then again, maybe I just need a shrink. :p

Hehe, a single wing would undoubtedly be annihilated by a convoy (Eder tells me he lost two Raptors in the single Dorkathi test mission I made for him to take those screenshots). But a single wing is something you're likely to see in the Prologue. Once the real action begins, your wing generally doesn't leave home without at least two other wings backing you up (and, of course, the enemy doesn't go easy on you either).

Still, if we had a mission named "Convoy Carnage", you can be sure the carnage could go either way ;).

My greatest Wing Commander moment was in academy when i took down three level 3 dorkathi and their escort of six level 3 jalkehi in a ferret, without a wingman. When i finished, my screen and radar was wacked, shields down, one gun left.
I bet all of my internal systems got wacked that time. I just tried flying that mission again. I really need to play WC again. :(
