HCl, among others, are still working in their spare time. What exactly are you looking for?
 
All in all, the amount of editing tools being developed is declining... the number of experts in this field has never been large, so it was only to be expected that sooner or later they'd be too busy to continue working in that aspect.
I haven't heard from Thomas Bruckner for a while (though that doesn't mean he's gone permanently). However, while he's not around to improve WCPPas, work goes on documenting the uses of what he's already done. See KillerWave's site for a bunch of tutorials about WCPPas and model conversion.
HCl is also very busy with university work, but he has a few projects up his sleeve as far as tools and patches go, so chances are you'll hear of him again soon enough ;).
