Nephilim Plasma Weapon as Orbital Bombardment

If the plasma weapon on the Kraken was pointed at a planet like Earth, what kind of destruction are we looking at? I would think the presence of oxygen would amplify the explosive power of the plasma burst, but I was just a grunt, so I wouldn't really know.

Anybody wanna take a crack at this one?

This nicely touches the absurd.
On the one hand we have the hypothetical impact of a hypothetical weapon - and I'd say, given physical propensity factors and a huge amount of guesswork, a plasma burst straight thru the atmosphere would result in a crater roughly the size of the missing continent of Atlantis [Uh-oh, they've done it before!].
And on the other hand we have the environmentally conscious planetkiller with the lobster-cooking attitude, who shows that he's not a psycho by voting for a method of destruction that's lower in suffering and higher on the scale of aethetic pleasantry.
Seriously, guys, was that one drink too many for me or for you..?
