The newest versions of the map aren't online yet -- the changes didn't seem to warrant a new upload. (The jpegs are a one-off thing that I do every noe and then... I actually work with fricking-huge bitmaps (4 megs per sector). I just didn't have time to upload new ones of those, though...

Armada Sectors -- Work has begun! I drew the first sector in the map... and now I'm trying to figure out how to set it up. My plan is to 'mirror' them, so that the Confed systems are on the left and the Kilrathi ones are on the right (so they'll line up properly with the rest of the map). That makes it a pain to label, though.

No updates tomorrow -- they're going to do something with lasers, so I won't be at work and can't do any map stuff.
 
Credit for what? I thought Piper was from the WCP map.

Anyway, I thought you've already done the Armada sectors - or are you re-doing them to fit in with the rest of the map? I find it hard to imagine where you'd put them, though. IIRC, the Lexington passed through Goddard transfer station, so the jump point couldn't be far from there, could it? That'd be a very long cross-sector jump.

Additionally, I thought the intent of Armada was to find a way to Kilrah, although I guess Confed really had no idea if the new jump point would lead there, so I supposed that point is moot.

And who's doing what with lasers? Oh, is that your 22nd/23rd eye operation? Hope it goes well.
 
My theory is that the sectors go *above* the current Terran/Kilrathi border (literally place them on top of the center of the map) -- look at the little 'area chart' on the current map -- it's just a sliver of the full 3D galaxy.

Landreich fits directly below Enigma, which makes a lot of sense when you stick all the map sectors together (http://www.blacklance.org/loaf/gorgon/averylargemapindeed.jpg should be an old version of them all stuck).

From Goddard I think we should follow the Armada Gauntlet mission systems -- with Terragon and so on.

Nothing so dramatic or dangerous as surgery, just a procedure thing <G>

(Credit for Piper meaning it might have been my suggestion in the first place... I know the various WC2 mentioned systems were in the original addition list I sent in to the original wcprophecy.com... which is how various fans got their names on the map <G>)

I don't think I ever recorded the Gauntlet system names, but that sounds like a good idea. From Confed's side, of course, right?

You sent in a list? Was that at their request?

BTW, is that a serious link you posted? 'Cause I can't get it and my uni's server is very slow today for some reason.
 
Why you put Gemini system in Humboldt Qaudrant, IIRC, Gemini system doesn´t exist in the game. (I know that is the Gemini Sector)?

If Captain Johnny 'stuffed up' the names, does that mean that SO is also wrong since in one of the cutscenes it shows reinforcements coming from Callimachius?

And I can't seem to get the Armada sector. My uni's server is still having problems, so that could be the reason, but it might not.

The list is everything that's changed from the original Prophecy map -- which lacks the 'backdoor' jump line. (It was one of the first things I did to the map, though).

I'll make some name changes... and more Armada sectors! My goal is to have all 11 done and ready to be corrected by Monday. (I've doen 1-5 so far).

I'm at home at the moment, and I won't try downloading the maps again with dial-up, but this is what I noticed from the last time I downloaded them:
M'shrak Sector still has some writing left at the bottom.
Vukar Tag Sector still has some of the original red border.
Armada sector is mirrored to have Confed 'left' and Kilrathi 'right', which I understand, since that's the way the WCP map is oriented. However, the green 'border' worlds are not technically part of the UBW - do we make allowance for that. Also, how do we travel in between sectors or from Goddard to sector 1? Include the systems mentioned in the Gauntlet as you mentioned before?

Isn't Bistanglo? That's how I remember it was spelt in the WC3 script.

And am I the only one interested in the gargantuan task LOAF is undertaking?
