Mini-Jump Point = Jedi Starfighter Ring?

I FINALLY got to reading the infamous Star*Soldier and I noticed that the Mini Jump Point Ring looks much like the Jedi Starfighter's Jump Ring from Star Wars.

I don't think there's a connection. If anything it's a mini version of the way Wormhole gates look in WC prophecy, or Privateer 2.

I don't know. I don't see a connection... I mean if you think about it, you could compare a lot in WC to things in other series. WC- Star Wars... WC- Top Gun, etc.

Yeah, I don't see it - the only connection is that it's circular and in space, which would put it in a group that includes everything from the USS Enterprise' saucer section to those original von Braun wheel space station concepts. The thing that makes the Jedi Starfighter (help, I'm trapped in Star Wars and need a better name!) unique is that it attaches to the fighter... and this thing doesn't do that.

(If anything, it's a reference to the larger jump gates in Privateer 2, since they share the same look *and* function.)
