Making the Game: Mission B3a/b (March 10, 2009)

Bandit LOAF

Long Live the Confederation!
If you win H'rekkah 2 then you go to B3a... if you lose, then you're stuck with B3b. What's the difference? Slightly more Morays! The most important thing I took away from these notes is a scene where Rachel actually acknowledges her history with Blair. Wasn't it odd how they seemed like complete strangers in the finished game?

These updates are thanks to John "Captain Johnny" Guentzel, who provided several CD image archives of material used by the Wing Commander Prophecy development team!

I found that "I want to do a sit in with you" to be rather weird...is he hitting on Rachel? Or does he want to question her about Blair? Or is he really interested in the decryption? :confused:

Anyway, do we ever see Blair and Rachel in the same scene in WCP? I think not. But the WCP guide acknowledges their story.

Also, is it normal that Blair addresses Casey in 3rd person in a conversation and vice versa?

I think that's the point. It did make me cringe a little...

Blair and Rachel's relationship is acknowledged in the ICIS manual too, at the very least in Paladin's letter to Blair on pages 2/3.

Addressing anyone in third person is not usual in English. I think the point was to speak in such an unusual manner so as to make sure that Casey knew Blair was being very serious. He is, after all, talking about the survival of the Midway and her crew in this scene.

<shudder>

Well... he was supposed to have ultimately settled down with Stiletto, no? So it was okay in the end. :)

Eh, I may be thinking of the Privateer 3 / On-Line development notes, so you're right, it's not really 'canon' as such. :/
