Major Redesign (pic Heavy)

Okay this in not entirely Wing Commnader related, other than WC inspired me a great deal. I just spent about an hour and half last night redesigning one of the key fighters of my books. So sit back relax and watch the evolution of the Splicer 5000, comments welcome.

The first major redesign in a long time of it, I extended the rear fuselage and redid the upper equipment box:

Finally, the newest version. I changed the anhedral on the wings (the angle they go down) from 45 to 30 degrees, relocated the missile launchers, added a three foot fuselage extension, recontoured the intakes, and recontoured the upper equipment box. The craft uses an advanced propuslion system based on particle accelerators and ion drives, I'll explain later.

My first attempt at making it's HUD, not sure of any game engines that allow custom HUDs so if I can make this into a game model the HUD will probably not follow:

Now before anyone says it, yes I have a canopy on it, the render just makes some parts of it disappear for stupid reason. I don't have the redefined stats sheet right in front of me but I will relate what I can.

The Splicer 5000 "Fire Hawk" is a Medium mass Space Superiority fighter. It has a crew of two, Pilot and WSO, armaments include:

Primary:
2-8 barrel gatling Plasma Laser Cannon (WC Equivalent (WCE): Lasers, ion or tachyon cannons)
2- Narfic Cannons (WCE: Leech Cannon)
2- Donvarion BioCannon (WCE: none, closest possible would be some kind of mass driver or stormfire)

Secondary:
2-5 missile launchers (WCE: pretty much any WC missile)
2- Shark Anticapital Ship Torpedoes (WCE: light torpedoes [WCP])

Well any comments are welcome let me know what you guys think. IF anyone wants to help me put it into a game engine, or put it into a game engine themselves it would be appreciate it. I would love to fly this thing against any number of sci-fi craft, even if they aren't my own. In fact I may even pay to have it put into a game engine.

...Are you telling us you're an engineer, test pilot, and crew chief all in one? (or am I just misinterpreting your signoff?)
 
BTW, this ship looks amazingly like a differently proportioned (and slightly larger) version of the craft that the player flies in the Descent games....
 
ACtually yes and no Preacher. I am an aerospace engineer, my old job I worked at I used to be in charge of maintaining the planes, so I was referred to asa the maintenance chief. ANd, I have been test flying a design og mine is simulation for a while, so I kindof am all those things. Plus I have also done some test flying for local kit builders.

I've heard people say it looks a bit like the descent fighter before, but really only superficially.
