Mace in WC4

same here, never shot at fighters

I used a dive bombing method, strafed the damned capship then launched the missile

the FS2 equivelant is better, the missile shows its range from you

is there some mission u must complete to get the mace cos i dont remember it in wc4 tho i know it was in there somewhere i just dont remember getting it, was it like the bearcat?

mebbe the cic shud post how to get the bearcat anyway cos i never flew it :(( and since so many people say how damn good it is, i wanna!

Oddly enough, scrolling a mere four posts in this EXACT SAME THREAD down found this WONDERFUL explanation about how to get the Mace in WCIV.

You must go to Speradon and capture the Confed weapons facility.

I remember one individual who posts on a message board I frequent and used the circled "search" link from the message board as his sig because of how many times people would ask the exact same questions.

ooh ooh ooh wish i had time to read threads that randomly change topic midway!

yes i cud search, or i cud suggest like i did that the cic have a page for such hidden items cos im sure many people wud like to know

Or, you could, like, you know, READ THE PAGE YOU POSTED TO!

No fuss, no muss, no search.
Merely a process of reading.
Of course, if you read as poorly as you write...

ho de ho? my writing and reading are excellent i thankyou very much, the fact that i do not try to be the poet laureate in each post is more to do with the fact that its unnecessary than because i am unable to.

as regards the post i said that not all of us have time to read the page that quite frankly is unlikely to include that information and could in fact feature nothing to do with wc4 at all.

thankyou and good day!

Poet laurete?
No, can't say I'm looking for that.
This is, however, the first post on this topic that looks as if you finished 3rd grade spelling.
What I find absolutely incredible is that while you can take the time to realize that the topic has changed to the Mace missile (which suggests you read the most recent post), you can't take the time to look a mere three posts below that - which is the post with the answer to your question. Its not as if you actually even had to TRY to find the information. It was probably on your monitor screen at the same time you were discovering there was a Mace missile in WC4.
If you can't even take the time to do THAT, then posting a seperate entry on it in the CIC would be a waste of time because you wouldn't bother to use that, either.

Ok, in the Speradon system, if you choose to collect fighters at the testing area (Blair's VO says "collect fighters"), then you use Leech Guns or Leech Missiles on the Bearcat fighters you fight, and you get to capture some Bearcats which you can choose to fly in later missions (excluding the Telamon and Axius missions where you are flying the Dragon instead).

If you choose to go after the weapons factory (Blair's VO says "collect weapons"), then you get the Starburst/Coneburst missiles (kinda useless since they are much weaker than the Mace but with a similar "splash" blast effect).

If you choose to capture the TCS Princeton, and succeed (you must shoot all turrets and destroy all three engines from behind), then you get Mace missiles. The way to load them onto your ship is to select a torpedo hardpoint on the loadout screen and then cycle weapon type (just like selecting missiles, only on a torp hardpoint).

I'm certain this sort of thing is in the WC4 game guide.

I'm not sure what encyclopedia you're refering too, the CIC doesn't at present have one. But if you think about it, the CIC as a whole is something of an encyclopedia.

i didn't like the starburst, but i did like the coneburst. it was like a giant shotgun. able to blast an entire wing at once.

Sorry, Shaggy, but you are mixing WCs 1&2 with 3&4.
And it was doom and not Duke which was 2,5D. 2,5D means that the environment is not trully tridimensional. If you pay close attention to doom, you will notice that there are no corridors going ABOVE or below others. it's kinda hard to explain. for instance, you don't need to aim up and down, because it's all in the same plane, always. This bi dimensional plane is "bumped" to create the illusion of the third dimension. but you can never ever walk under another corridor... or over. the "elevators" are always solid columns, etc.

The sprites don`t really matter in this case. the game can be fully 3-d and use sprites, like Dark Forces and Duke. Or Wc1 and 2.

Starburst is somewhat bizarre. But it was a cool thing to fire inside the hangar bay of a carrier.

I was able to blow up carriers with one well placed shot from that. A very nice weapon in the appropriate hands! :D
