just a little question

Black-Wulf

Rear Admiral
well I spent a couple of nights on the same mission:
the defending of 2 confed destroyers, one of them is called "sao paulo".
and everytime i played it, the sao paulo gets destroyed. I shoot grikaths like on a fair but they still get the destroyer.
so my question is:
is that a "must lose" mission? is the sao paulo rescuable??? or am I nuts??

You can resuce it. You just have to be smart on how you choose your targets. Look for ones that look like they're beginning their run. Take those bombers out first.

Defending the Sao Paulo

I find what works best is to stay very close to the Sao Paulo. Don't go haring after the bombers but let them come to you as they begin their bomb runs. If you have missiles left and use full guns you can usually make short work of most of them before they get their torpedoes off. And you are still in position to intercept any torpedoes launched by them in time. They come in waves, so just be patient till you've destroyed them all. Let your wingmen deal with any enemy fighter escorts, just do evasives if they start taking shots at you. Stay on the bombers. Also, watch the rear quarters very closely. Everytime I've flown the mission thats where most of the attacks seem to come from.

Good luck and hope that helps some.

Yeah, I forgot to mention staying close to the Sao Paulo. Seems like the best tactic on defending against bomber runs. At least in Standoff.
