Is Strike Commander part of WCU?

Ten bucks says this will have turned into a "the WC movie should be considered a separate universe" thread by the 20th reply.
 
Not if we start talking about how great Wings of Glory was... right now!

So, Wings of Glory was great.
 
Going by the gaming logic... if Strike Commander had been successful enough to have merited several sequals... I'm fairly certain that somewhere down the line Origin would have tried to connect the two along some lines.
 
This is the kind of thread where someone could ask the same thing about Wings of Glory and even that new possible movie, "American Knight".

EDIT: Well, both Crusader and WC had a "WEC". But is Crusader actually part of the WC Universe, or is just a nice reference and in-joke like the Kilrathi on Ultima VII?
 
I think that the WC movie should be considered a separate universe, but that goes for Alien 3 and 4, and the new Star Wars films as well.

Hehe, I loved the part when the farmer said something like "It struggled out of the wreck and said 'Kill Rathy.' I don't know any Rathy, but I wouldn't want to be him with that thing coming to kill him."

Eh, I can't really think of a single case where Origin did anything like this (G)

(Strike Commander was succesful enough for them to start development on a sequel... Strike Commander II: Phoenix Force... may it rest in peace)
 
Strike Commander was better than some WC games, IMO. And yep, Wings of Glory was almost as good. :)
 
Yeah. Pacific Strike tried very hard to do some very cool things... it had the most dynamic campaign I'd ever seen in a video game... any wingman could die at any time, every mission was affected by which capital ships survived or were destroyed... but man, the characters were bland and boring and the story was incredibly impersonal.
