I'm making a top down rpg/rts tribute to Privateer, can I use Mad Hatter's music?

Silverforce

Rear Admiral
It's a space sandbox game inspired by Privateer and Escape Velocity for Android and iOS. I would love to put in there music from Privateer, remixed by Mad Hatter available on the CIC for download as mp3s.. but I wonder if its legal?

Anyone have any insights? I can't find any information regarding the usage of those mp3s.

More info on the game here:

Thanks.

Mad Hatter hasn't logged into the forums in about four years, so it's unlikely he'll see this thread. You can try contacting him directly via https://www.wcnews.com/chatzone/members/mad-hatter.188/

Most of Mad Hatter's music isn't actually his music though - it's extracted from the Wing Commander games, and so if you'd like to use it in a commercial product, then you'd probably want to go through Electronic Arts to work out the licensing details.

Top down Privateer RPG? Sounds good!

Privateer 1 and 2 gave me so much good gaming memories, I really want to make something on mobiles that can do them proud.

Using simple touch controls (I dislike mobile games with digital d-pads/sticks), top down just fits so well.

It's nearly done, I should have to out in June.

Here's an updated video, its in the final polish and bug-hunt phase.

I made this game because I love Privateer 1 and 2 so much but sadly on mobiles there's nothing that truly captures the magic and gameplay. D-pad 3D spacesims just feels wonky and wrong on a tablet or phone for me.
