I found the quirk with the parking issue!

If you manage to hit a for autopilot when you die, or hit a as you hit d to dock, you park AFU! Get to the place you want to dock, I verified this at Perry, and it worked EVERY SINGLE TIME IN 10 TRIES, hit a to go into auto pilot. Now that you're in auto-pilot hit d. parking 101 all overagain.
