how do i save Beuford station

Dyret

Super Carrot!
I have been trying to save beuford station for a very long time but it is always blown up during the second attack.

I guess the cutscene where the dauntless is overrun by bugs is the losing endgame, but the beuford mission was the only one i lost.

Is it POSSIBLE to save beuford?

I would like the makers of UE to answer these questions.

I didn´t make UE but I guess I can help you out. :p

Make sure Beaufort doesn´t take much damage in the FIRST attack, so in the second attack it is more resistant.

It ain´t an easy mission, so head for the bombers (red mantas) and take them out FAST. There is no secret for this mission, you have to be lucky. Try using the map to take out the bombers with maximum efficiency.

EDIT: And yes, if you lose Beaufort there´s no way you can win the game. However, you do get to see a nice and creepy losing ending.

Even with the lighter guns, I've found that mission to be much easier in a Banshee - the speed advantage over the Scim let's it get to the bombers outside of their torpedo range.

Well....
you can play on rookie... in rookie one missile = one kill... and the Banshee has a-l-l lots of missiles... :D

I wanted the makers to answer the questions simply because i have a few other questions only they can answer.

I really hate that ending, It would not be any problem for me to take down all those figthers.

After i learned how to shoot down torps, it was easy to win
1 Kill mantas/torps as quickly as possible
2 dont get stuck in the antennas
My current problem is to survive the avenger escort mission.
(poor warrior)

Well, go ahead then.

Hehe, fighting practically alone, and your ship running low on fuel & missiles, not to mention having all the damage from the previous mission? I daresay you could have some trouble :p.

1. Some of the pilots have the old secret ops voices:
They're calling Daniels Casey, they're calling the kilrathi bugs or insects...

2. Why is the kilrathi using ancient ships from the wc1 era?

3. the cutscenes/cinematics seems a bit misplaced
The transfering to kilrathi ship cinematic could just as well have been a cutscene, while the destruction of the Intrepid would be much nicer as a cinematic.

4. Is the old ships converted directly from Wc3-4?

5.Why is the fiction viewer seperate from the game? it would be easier to acesss if it was in the game itself.(It's a really good story though)

6. It would be really nice if you could make SO mod where you play as a Nephilim pilot.

Replacing all comms would be tiresome, very time consuming and would increase the download size significantly...better to leave it alone

Most of the kilrathi fleet is decomissioned at the end of wc3, also kilrathi raiders wouldnt have access to state of art equipment

While the transfer to the kilrathi ship is a small and simple sequence, the destruction of the intrepid would be big and complicated...

If i remember correctly they are all new models.

Until the completion of UE, there was no way to add the fiction viewer ingame. Standoff will have it.

Yes, but mods are dificult to get done. Members of the UE crew are working on standoff, and there is an idea for UE2 after that...

Because there was a bunch of WC1 ship models available that nobody else was using :p. Ironically, all of these later got replaced by different models.

(and yes, the in-game explanation is that the Kilrathi mostly use old equipment, with new fighters like the Vaktoth only available in limited numbers)

3. the cutscenes/cinematics seems a bit misplaced

The destruction of the Intrepid cutscene was done long before we could do cinematics. On the other hand, the transfer scene definitely has to be a cinematic, not an in-game cutscene - each cutscene is treated as a mission (appearing in the history and all that), and we would not want something this trivial to appear in the history.

4. Is the old ships converted directly from Wc3-4?
Some are - the Banshee and the Avenger.

6. It would be really nice if you could make SO mod where you play as a Nephilim pilot.
My standard answer to anybody with ideas for new mods: the tools are available, go for it. Developing a mod is a long and painful process, so we're not in any position to make mods by request.

I would if i:

1. Had a team.

2. Had experience.

3.Knew were to find the tools.

4.Had patience

2. need to start somewhere
3. bet they can tell you
4. always need patience - problem is time.
1. I'm willing, now all you need is a team-1 ;)

Thanx.
I dont know much about programming, so i guess i only thing i could do would be to come up new ideas.
I could of course Write the story but i dont think i got sufficient information about the nephilim. (I know they are harvesting something, but dont know what/why.)
I have only played Secret ops, Unknown enemy, and the prophecy demo.
So you would virtually be working with an idiot.

If you destroy the Fralthi's bridge or engines, you will see that in fact, it does have 'destroyed' textures.

Perhaps there's somwthing wrong with my computer.
Thanx for answering my questions :)

UE is the best mod i have ever seen, including counter strike.
Perhaps not as famous, but better.

Keep up the good work.

Thanx, those tutorial will be very useful.
One more question: (i need to know this when i start making nephilim cockpits)
Are the nephilim ships Organic.

Looks like it. At least good parts seem to be organic, otherwise there wouldn't be the alien virus.

So i should probably make the cockpit look a bit alive?
Anyway, i saw a movie from prophecy where Blair was walking around in a nephilim ship with lots of dead bodies laying on the floor. Marines?
I got the impression that the ship was alive, also
when you hit a nephilim fighter they appear to bleed.
