LOL, I forgot about that one! If he had said that to me in real life, I think I would have cracked up right there in front of him. :)

Hi! Just got into the forum, and this is my first post!

My most hilarious moment in Wing Commander happened just this weekend, in WC3.

As I was flying a rescue mission alone in Locanda, I was intercepted by a Corvette, escorted by a pair of Vaktoths...

I slowly aproached the enemies (was saving my burners). The Vaktoths were looping all over the place, while taunting me. Then...

Vaktoth 1: "You pathetic descendant of monkeys!"
Vaktoth 2: "You pathetic descendant of monkeys!"
Vaktoth 1 & 2: "AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!"

Just when they completed another looping, the two kitties simply crashed head-on!!! BOOOOMMMM!!!!

Were they too busy trying to insult me that they forgot to look where they were flying??

I was so surprised that I almost forgot to take down the Corvette... ALMOST! :D

Moment was in Prophecy. Flying the Wasp to intercept CapMissles. Hull and shields were near zero, and was trying to avoid fire. Hit my booster pack, smacked dead into a wingman's missle.

I was playing WC1 on my old SNES awhile back, when this happened...

I was flying with Maniac in the Brimstone system, and I left him behind at the first nav point. ( just let him go after one Gratha and went on to the next nav because he was taking too long, ended up at Nav 3 without him )

The Kilrathi did this really annoying tactic in that game. They would keep looping around and around, never firing at you. I was out of fuel at this point, so I couldn't just afterburn at him. I had just been going at full speed, and tagging him whenever he got close. I had him worn down to the point where if I could just get him with one more shot, I'd have him.

What happened?

I was closing in on him again as he was moving towards me on his loop...and I hear the sounds of missles launched...three missles came out of nowhere, followed shortly by Maniac buzzing by me, blasting that Gratha into nothing.

I almost killed Maniac right there...but I was too busy hitting my friend who was watching and just laughing.

This is not exacttly hilarious, but was very fun. I was playing WC2 (or one of the SOs, I don't remember) and then I was attacked alone by a wing of Strakha stealth fighters. I took them up one by one, but the last one was allways cloacking just before I could catch him on my sights.

Then, I came up with some weird idea. Just when he cloacked, I stopped my fighter, turned 180°, and fired away! Sudenlly, the "vaccum" in front of me exploded, and some Strakha debris spread from the explosion...

Since them, killing cloacked Strakha became my primary source of fun in WC2! :D

in WC 3 when he sees Paladin realizing that Paladin did not tell him that Angel died, it gives you the option to punch the s.o.b., i always choose it. ive never chosen the other option. its hilarious

This post is an example of something unintentionally funny.

Kilrathi also seem to be suicidal... i was playing WC 1, dralthi on my tail, and one heading right for me... the bugger infront of me tries to ram me... i pull up and he has a little get together with his buddy who's on my tail...

Speaking of bugs in the game, I've noticed how often friendly fire incidents occur in the game. Like you would go for one fighter and your wingman will go after it as well. If you're not carefun then it's easy to come under your wingman's fire, and they're shoot you apart.

yes... but if you think about it... that is less of a bug and more of a reallity of war

In some cases yes. Straying into the field of fire of a trigger happy buffun is a reality of war. But I would think that some at least would know about fields of fire. On the other hand, it really is up to you to keep out of your wingman's field of fire. It's something I actually enjoy. No, now that I think about it you're right. CT\HRU forces usually have their own field of fire, and will shoot whatever is in that area. For someone who doesn't know, they can end up getting shot by their teammates. If they make another WC game it's actually something you can discuss with your wingmen.

I love turning on invul. and just ramming the crap out of everybody. Taking out a capship with invul. on is very fun also.

On the Amiga, there was a bug that sometimes mad the Tiger's Claw invisible, so I often hit it at full speed and blew up
