Flash Video technology

ok, this question may not be answerable. I love the Flash video's in the "holovids" section. very cool to see both sides of the full motion video taken from WC III and WC IV.
i am wondering if that technology can be adapted to other fomats. meaning, i have some old 8mm movies (ok i am dating myself) and would love to be able to view them in this format. i know there is the first part of getting a digial format of the 8mm movies, but can they be put into flash player as well?

Flash video is basically a codec. You can convert anything into the file format. The format is also convenient for streaming video. NO format is ever dependent on the source. If you can digitize the 8mm stuff then you can convert it to whatever you want. Converting is dependent of what software you have, not the video itself.

thank you for the clarification. i am in the process of trying to digitize the film and wanted to know if it was possible. thanks, i may check back for assistance once i digitize and are ready to convert. very cool
