Finding a Freespace Feature Focus (February 19, 2010)

The WC Saga team is running a poll to see which new feature people would like the most. The list includes animated autopilot, autoaim, better AI, code optimization, fiction viewer, high res cutscenes, HUD changes, shader support, new skyboxes, support for more cutscenes or widescreen support. Widescreen monitor support is currently in the lead, followed by higher resolution videos and improved AI. Cast your vote at the Saga website.

I had already voted before the poll started, but the cutscenes stand out in WC, as always(too bad they chose not go on with FMV-movies with people in it like they did in the trailer)

While it would surely be quite interesting to work with real people it would be a bit to much work. I can hardly handle the stuff we do now (timewise) and even the small trailer I did back then was hard work.

Like we discussed a few weeks back, just dealing with voice actors is very time consuming and complicated

It is but people can mostly record the stuff where they life and then they send you the files.
Sending people around the world or you going around to do the filming is quite different.

It was still fun doing that little trailer. I am just happy that some people convinced me to cut the length in about half. Else I couldn't have done it in the short time I had back then.
