I loved the Victory. It was certainly my favorite. Maybe it is because it was always my first love. Always coming apart at the seams and barely held together.

The ship was also run by some of the best men and women in a game that I have come to know.

Since it was the first carrier to actually be in a full motion interactive movie that might also contribute to it.

I did really love Captain Eisen in his role with the ship and the way that he always defended the old, "Tin Can Sally."

Okay, I know I'm being pedantic here, but IIRC, you didn't come to know many of the bridge crew. Unless you mean that "fluffy-haired blond". I'll assume you mean men and women who served on the Victory. :p

:p Very true.

But, I still stand by my statement's meaning. I really have a love for that ship. I think it was also the way that you could visit the bulk of it. The bridge itself was such an awesome room to just walk into and see a buzz of activity. The interaction with the officers at times was also awesome. Ya can't go wrong with the 'In-Flight Movie' as I call them. :D

Got to be the first carrier I ever served on, the good ol Tiger's Claw, maybe not the interaction or visiuals of some of the other carriers, but the Claw is in a seperate class of its own (plus it has a dead hard name TIGER's CLAW!)

Though the Victory is my second fav!

Then the Lexington from Armada!

The Midway, just remove the crappy laser turrets and replace them with dual tachyons and everything would be all right.

Wow, someone likes Armada's Lexington? :)

(Not again.) The Midway is a carrier, it engages enemies with its complement of fighters, not turrets. The lasers are for point defence against torpedoes and fighters, and remember, even though they weren't implemented in the game, the Midway is still supposed to have ion cannons for capship fights.

The MIDWAY was fairly respectable, but it was just not maneuverable and was like the freakin Death Star... IMPOSSIBLE TO MISS THAT TARGET.

Such is the reason that if I had the opportunity to command any carrier I would opt for the Tarawa or Victory simply because they have a lot more character, they are more maneuverable, and they aren't as big of a target.

Well, the Midway was designed to be a mobile base of sorts. The whole "eggs in one basket" thing.

I don't know if character has much to contribute to a capital ship's performance. :)

I think that is the main critism of the MIDWAY... it was such a big target and was so important that it wasn't exactly the best idea in my opinion... I don't agree with Blair's push for that program.

You have to remember that the Midway was conceived in a time of relative peace, when defence budgets were being scaled back and the Kilrathi War era fleet was falling apart. The Midway was designed as an economical replacement for those fleets, and Blair was on hand to help remove some of the weaknesses of such a large target.

Heh, heh. 6000 :)
