Don´t you hate Maniac...

Missiles on WC are the most realistic of all WC games. Missiles are powerful, dangerous things, not something you use to soften up a target.

Maybe so, but the relative tactical value between missile types is nerfed when you can get a one-hit kill with any missile to any fighter except for the Longbow/Lance with a FF. This basically kills the incentive for using Heatseekers at all (more power and speed than IR, but easier to spoof/shake off).

A good fix for that would be to make it so bombers could take 2 FFs or IRs.

Not nessacery, A Morey with no shields and yellow health wont go out with just a missile.
BTW, does missile warheads and firepower vary depending on seeker-type?

The missiles had different firepower and speed/agility depend on their lock type. IIRC:

FF: 280 cm damage, slowest missile
IR: 360 cm damage, faster than FF, twice as hard to spoof as FF and HS
HS: 450 cm damage, faster and more agile than IR, but the most agile fighters could shake it by turning quickly enough unless it is launched at point-blank range
Artemis ELRIR (Prophecy/SO): 620 cm damage, faster and more agile than IR with twice the range
DF: 800 cm damage, fastest missile, no guidance (flies in a straight line)

Very much so. In WC4 you could take out pretty much any fighter with one missile while in WCP I remember having to use 3 to take out 1 fighter.

Not really that much. We're looking at a 10% shift on average from WC3 to Prophecy, if that even. A number of weapons have exactly the same damage values over this period. The differences come in with the wide variety of ships. You have Darkets or Razors with about 50 cm of armor and Paktahns or Devil Rays with over 500 cm.

Yes. Missile and gun damage is pretty much the same for WC3 through Prophecy--for example, the Piranha's weapon load is pretty much the same as the Arrow except for the Piranha trading its second laser for the Stormfire Mk II and two missiles' difference. However, the Piranha also has just over double the armor and core hit points as the Arrow. In general there is approximately a doubling of armor between WC4 and WCP, which means that anything but a Skate/Stringray can survive a single hit from a missile lighter than a Dumbfire or Artemis ELRIR.
