Do you like the WC Movie?

Wow. But in this lighting the texture almost looks like the ship is already destroyed.

Yes, it is. Among other things, this is one of the civilian ship classes that you get to escort during the final battle.

Karl: as Eder put it, he made the model dirty enough for it to fit in with the rest of the WC Movie :p. All the ships there were quite grimy, after all.

Yup, in a couple different variants or so, actually... but it won't show up in many missions. I made this one almost exclusively for the "screen of civilian ships" mission (referenced in FA). For what it's worth, it'll show up in large numbers there. :p We're also using it as the Bannockburn in the intro cutscene to first episode of the main campaign.

That's what it looked like in the reference pics I worked with. ;) To be honest, I just chose to go with a battered look for our civilian ships... don't want them to look brand new (they might even look kinda uninteresting, since it's grey all over... don't know for sure, haven't tried). The Free Trader kinda matches the worn-out look as well.

That's one nice planet behind the Diligent!* :p
Can't take credit for that, unfortunately. ;) Practically all our planets were made by Thomas Ganshorn an awfully long while ago.

Is that going to be....the bannockburn? in the Encyclopedia it says the Bannockburn was an Errant class

Now i know where i got the inspiration for this fighter :p I sketched it and Maj.Striker build it.
Eder, how did you made this "layered" style texture on the sides? Id like to add those to my texture...btw, whats the poly count? It looks quite circular.

There's 4 new screenshots on the site, with some generic Rapier vs Sartha action. These Errant shots are also there now, and the progress page has been updated. (I'll write the official news update there tomorrow).

KW: The poly count's around 1200 triangles, as usual. :p
I textured the sides using layers in Photoshop. I cut my standard hull plating texture into "stripes", moved each into a separate layer, rotated and placed each of them on top of each section of the hull (I used the wireframe view of the model as the background layer), then cut off the excess of each piece and drew some dark lines between them.

The Errant's firepower varies from ship to ship (according to the Confed Handbook, it's a very customisable type of ship), but in this particular case, it's got one turret topside. It's visible (barely) in that first shot.
