Are Wing Commander games and USB controllers compatible???

Hi!
Does anyone know if the Wing Commander games are compatible with USB controllers (as an example: Saitek X-45).

I own:
Wing Commander Kilrathi Saga
Wing Commander IV (DOS & WIN 95 versions)
Wing Commander Prophecy
Privateer 2 (EA classic release, this is the WIN 95 release(?))

I'm only asking because I will be upgrading my PII 266MHz Win 95 computer to a Shuttle XPC AMD 2X00 XP+, Win 98SE and it only has room for one PCI card (I want to use it for my voodoo 2 card).
So I'm thinking of selling my gameport HOTAS and replacing it with a USB one.

DOS games shouldn't work with USB, but Windows games do. The question is how much of a windows game are the WC games.

In my system, WinXP, it does not work with KS WC1 WC2 WC3, but it does work with WCSO and UE. Perhaps WCP as well, but I didn't test it.

USB works with WCP and WC4, and possibly the classics version of WC3, if i remember right.
