    Starlancer Capital Ships

Tru dat--if you go to the ITAC (ship's computer), you don't get ship classes w/ a sub-list of individual ship names, you just get ship names. And, yes, there are some classes that have more than one type of ship, and some minor capships that there are so many of that they don't warrant...

    Best and Worst WC ripoffs

Nah, nothing that dramatic (the destruction of suns and planets, I mean)--at least, I don't think so--but there is combat. Quoting PCGamer December 2001, page 100: "75 planets, 145 moons, and over 100 space regions"..."over 60 different spacecraft and planetary vehicles available to be flown...

    Best and Worst WC ripoffs

Yeah, it came out about 2 years ago--turns out it was actually playable (unlike the atrocious BC 3000), and it offered a HUGE game universe to do whatever you wanted in, but everybody had already given up on the series. I never played Freespace or Tachyon, but IWar 2 was pretty good, and...

    WC3 and WC4 Books

I think that only WC1 and Priv2 have a different type of in-game "timing" that causes 'em to speed up on newer systems. I've got WC2 running on a 366 Mhz, and it runs just dandy; I've just gotta pause the cutscenes to read them, though... :p In reference to newer systems with older games...

    WingCommander-Simulator ? ?

Personally, I like Rocs. What is the Leviathan--as opposed to a leviathan--anyways?

    WingCommander-Simulator ? ?

The bible that most people are familiar with (the antiquated King James version, which has influence in just about every Book written since) is almost exclusively taken literally; the King James version was written and heavily modified, manipulated and edited my male authoritarians more than 500...

    WC Privateer, Privatter2

You forgot Logan's Run. And I thought that the P2-semi-separate universe was pretty cool. I thought that while the first game (which I played through and immensely enjoyed) had more of a "what's out there?" mysterious feeling, the second had a tense, 'more-than-slightly-illegal,' kind...

Space sim games (SW Episode II Spoilers)

Even if Owen is the product of another marriage, when Anakin's mother (Schmi, I think) and Owen's father (forgot his name) married, Owen would have become Schmi's son. Thus, Owen is Anakin's half-brother. (I think)

    Question about fighter shields

:) For once, I'm with TC

    I must know....

I'm with LeHah; I thought that the ending to WCP, concerning Blair's death, had a very "canned" and overdone feel to it. I was diappointed with it when I first saw it, disappointed with the fact that Blair's death seemed so corny . But I also knew that that was the way it ended, like it or...

    The sonic accelerator

If you want to stick with the "sonic canister" concept, without it becoming a hard-shelled missile, how's this: the gun produces the sonic vibration, encapsulates it in a magnetic-field (or something similar) 'bubble' and fires the bubble-missile at the enemy. When the magnetic field impacts...

    Joysticks

That's sorta like the kind I started on WC1 with, way back when...It was a five-button, with three on the head of the stick (but it recognized the left thumb and the trigger as the same button) and 2 buttons on the base. It was a great stick, too, even though the trigger *did* wear out purely...

    Hobbes..............

Yeah, the ship-size conundrum always gave me headaches. Besides the fact that WC2 uses much smaller (size of modern atmospheric planes) ships than all of the other games (well, except for Prophecy...), most of the fighters are truly HUGE; most of the fightercraft are bigger than the U.S. Space...

    Favorite WC Moment

Well, one of the hardest parts of the Jazz dogfight is that he can jerk his Sabre around unlike any other pilot in the game; you probably just got lucky and managed to kill 'im before he actually got to you. An explanation of why he never shot @ you may be the percentage-based AI in wing...

    Favorite WC Moment

Seeing Spirit ram that spacestation was just heartbreaking. She was a favorite wingmate all through the series (after all, she WAS your first), and her death felt like a huge loss for me...Maybe not the 'best' moment, but definetly one of the most powerful. Also at the end of SO2 when you see...

    Space Sims: Background Nebulas&Lighting

I like the mostly-black schemes they used in Privateer 2 and that old Playstation [1] game Colony Wars. The background was primarily the basic black-with-stars look, with the occasional close "sun" star being extremely bright so you almost have to look away from your monitor--with the lens...

    Favorite WC1/2 missions?

I know you didn't ask which missions we don't like, but I absolutely HATE the final SO1 mission where you're flying a Sabre, and you have to take out an ass of fighters (mostly Sartha, I think...), and then 2 Ralatha parked right beside each other!! I never did beat that mission...any tips?

    Favorite WC1/2 missions?

I liked that first Rostov System mission where you get the Raptor for the first time in WC1; after what seemed like forever in the Scimitar, seeing those Salthi shatter after 2 Full Gun volleys felt *very* good...[better than sex...well, better than sex with myself...] As for WC2, I liked...
