under the radar games that I think you wingnuts might like

Eiyuden Chronicles: hundred hereos This is a new jrpg that was crowd funded by the team that used to make the Suikoden games. I almost backed it, bc i adore those ps1 type games. I just pre-ordered this game, as it comes out Tuesday at full price for $45 dollars, im super pumped

    Wing Commander at 25 (March 12, 2024)

I'm not a fan of the movie at all, but I celebrate people who enjoy whatever they love. Wing Commander 3 is my least favorite in the game series, but if it's somebody else's favorite, that's fine too and it can spark interesting discussions.

Dune: Part Two (updated new release date 3/1/2024)

I know probably most don't care about the box office but I've always found numbers and math interesting, when this was first announced I thought it would obviously do better then the first because it's not a day and day release on HBO Max, so I was guessing 500 to 600 million. But now after all...

under the radar games that I think you wingnuts might like

I'm here to tell you about another great game. It was free on the PlayStation Network for January and has two DLC packs that are also free with the game, that add between 3 and 5 hours total to the game. It's called Tails of iron. It is a Souls like game and I'm actually not a huge fan of those...

Wing Commander Series Reboot/Remake Concept Dump

I get what you're saying but I think a good story will always triumph over replayability/choice. For instance there's a reason the last of us, the first game has been remade and rebooted now 3 times, because the story and characters are great and there is no choice in that game. It is a purely...

Wing Commander Series Reboot/Remake Concept Dump

I appreciate the time energy and effort this took but I don't like that idea of how to handle characters at all, sorry. I rather a writer/creative tell me the story they are trying to tell then give me countless options where some of them are the obviously the ones the writer really wanted to...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

I'm glad more people are coming around to this. I remember when I first came to this board to say anything negative about any of the games was almost blasphemy. but from a story standpoint three does not do a lot of things correctly in my opinion. If you enjoy it great but on a pure Story, and...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

I don't think it's right to compare Blade Runner to Star Wars even the original blade runner was hardly a box office hit. As far as Star Wars goes, Solo lost a crap ton of money and let's be real there's a reason we have not seen a star wars movie in 5 years. Disney in general has had nothing...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

Loaf you know chris far better than me and many others. All i will say is i find it odd if chris cares far more on a technical level for gaming, than a story telling level, since WC4 is so story centric. A lot of the budget for wc4 was for the story, sets, actors etc... i mean on a technical...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

For the record I see the same thing with angel, either Chris didn't like them being written as a couple in wc2 or he wanted to explore the romance Choose Your Own Adventure subplot game mechanic. so he quickly killed her off, to let the player decide on a new romance partner. which once again I...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

I'm Just One Step Beyond you I guess because I don't even think his character lineup game to game. On a purely logical point of view they do, because of the personality overlay you can make it make sense sort of. But you can see the strings of puppetry behind it so easily, that to me Chris...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

My point is on a pure basic storytelling point of view. I can see how tolywyn from Wing Commander 2 could turn into that crazy Mad Man by 4. Could the details be more fleshed out, yes but to give the books credit here, I feel like the politics of the border worlds, was being more fleshed out in...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

I think my point is pretty clear. most characters from the books do not add up to the characters we then see in the games as a whole. no matter who you are talking about, even Blair. The easiest character to transfer was bear because he's basically a blank slate as a character in the expansions...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

I added more to my previous post if you want to go back and read. I don't disagree with you but then the third game completely changes that with hobbes. just like tolwyn, he is not really the same character. The characterization in the games is all consistent enough and you can connect the dots...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

If you try to match up most of the books as far as characterization of characters goes, it is hard to swallow. I love what they did with tolwyn in the books. I also love the game version of tolwyn. The problem is trying to connect the character to being the same person as in the books and game...

Why I say some of the characterization in WC3 and WC4 was not good

While WC3 was a good game. 3 is easily my least favorite in the series as far as the Story Goes. A lot of characterization and plots left out floating in the wind and a lot of very unlikable characters all the way around. I never did like the idea of hobbes being a spy to begin with, but even if...

under the radar games that I think you wingnuts might like

long time no post, I recently beat syberia 4. I played it on the PlayStation 4 and it definitely had issues running on that platform, so I would recommend playing it on a more high-end computer. But the game itself was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

    Broken sword

They are making a new broken sword game, and also remaking the first broken sword game with the help of AI. The Remake actually does look pretty great, even though I'm not a huge fan of remakes, but either way broken sword is one of my favorite adventure game franchises what do y'all think?
