    Moray,Devil Ray,Manta,Skate, What's next?

But with a weapon along the lines of a "capital ship missile", there are any number of ways to increase their effectiveness and prolong their useful life. Look at the Skipper as a simple example. Above and beyond that, just because humans find CSMs less than useful has no bearing on how the...

    The Great Kilrathi-Esque Hunt!

Probably not one of their front line warriors, but ohh well.

    Moray,Devil Ray,Manta,Skate, What's next?

Instead of a kamikaze per say, I'm envisioning a CSM with programming and maneuvering capabilities beyond "fly in a straight line toward the target". Although for some reason in universe, I expect CSMs to do a bit more than that anyways. Even Confed's ground attack munitions in End Run can...

    Shrike Gripes

I never had a big problem with the chain ion, but I do despise the heck out of the regular ion gun. I would rather have even lasers than those inefficient pieces of crap, let alone a reaper cannon, particle cannon, pulse particle, etc. As far as the Shrike goes, it was OK I guess, but I...

    WORST WCP/SO ship

Could have a lighter version like the merged Stingray's cannon.

Of course there are the Bonnie Heather and Gamal Gan scramble missions...

    Taking out your friends

Heck, in WC2 it only takes two hits to a friendly to piss them off. Sucks when your turrets would do it.

    Taking out your friends

The Concordia can indeed be taken down as I recall, but it takes a lot. From what I remember, there is a mission where you fly a Broadsword, and the Concordia is being attacked by Grikaths. If you let them land a hit or two, it is *possible* to finish it off from there.

    WORST WCP/SO ship

I wasn't fond of the Piranha since it had a hard time killing much of anything without missiles or the stormfire, but I have to feel sorry for who/whatever pilots the bad guy's Lampreys. Talk about useless...

    Sartha Gripes

The Sartha has had its moments for me, the most irritating of which is in the final mission of WC2. They seemed to have a good knack for if not killing me, killing my targeting computer.

    Gothri Gripe

Between fighting Khasra and his gang in a Crossbow and the last mission of SO1 of fighting them and the Fralthra, I learned to respect the Gothri. They always seemed like a pretty good match for the Morningstar in SO2; I certainly didn't find facing them to be a piece of cake. I seem to recall...

    Thrakkath and Revenge

Do we really have that much information of what happened between WC1 and 2, which would be most of those years Thrakhath was in control? Can't really say how many failures there were. Beyond that, he inherited a relatively poor situation. The empire spent a heck of a lot of resources in 20...

    Thrakkath and Revenge

Ahh but it surely does matter. Remember, we're discussing why he got executed, and what effect that "great victory" would have had. Thinking as the Emperor, if you feel that Gilkarg got lucky one time thanks to a new development and the enemy's stupidity/lack of preparation, and then proceeded...

    Killing Cap Ships

I would still go after the Targus personally. Two of em put out a heck of a lot more flak than one Ralatha, which seems to be the leading cause of death among my wingmen.

    Thrakkath and Revenge

I'm not arguing how great of a victory it was or wasn't for the cats. I'm simply stating that Gilkarg's leadership wasn't the root cause of it being such a great victory. The complete lack of preparation on the part of Confed coupled with the innovation of the shield penetrating torpedo were far...

Damn straight. No real need to fight em!

    Thrakkath and Revenge

The attack plan itself wasn't all that brilliant... The simple reality that the Confederation was completely unprepared and the cats had a new weapon played more of a role than the genius of Gilkarg. And of course the fact that there is stalemate 20 years after the attack indicates that it...

    Torpedo Question

From a gameplay standpoint, I preferred WC2, although I wouldn't mind a mix of WC2 and WCP. What I mean by that is that you can target engines/bridge for extra damage or to intentionally cripple a craft in some manner, but an anti-matter torpedo should still cause a decent amount of pain hitting...
