I have same problem. Only solution is make a boot disk with devicehigh=emm386.exe ram 16384 i=b000-b7ff line in config.sys.

Adding 16384 to EMM386 line in config.sys solves my sound problem. Thank you very much :-)

I'm running Privateer on PII600Mhz w/o moslo, and it's running just fine. No slowdown is needed. But Privateer 2 is running very fast, so I need some slowdown. I'm using moslo 1.32b trial (50% slowdown I think) w/o any problems.

Choosing any other IRQ causes privateer to end with error message 'wrong sound configuration' (or something like that)

I have just add to my computer an old SB16 sound card, just to have sound in Privateer. And it is almost perfect. NPC's are speaking, when fying I hear afterburner, shield impact. But when I fire I hear only noise. When NPC's (or bartrender) speaking, sometimes voice change to weird noise...
