I've noticed that Privateer crashes back to DOS when you try to mount a tractor beam on the bottom turret of a Galaxy. Gives you a fatal error...anyone know what's goin on?

Do you have the emm386 line in your config.sys? like, are you getting EMS when you are in DOS? type "mem" to find out

so we're still kinda split on the turret issue. Personally, I don't think I saw my turret EVER fire on its own. Privateer manual anyone?

then what's the point of turrets if they don't even fire by themselves...and when you're in turret mode, you can't even steer the ship.

thx for your insight Ijuin. Now it brings me to a question, do turrets fire by themselves or do you have to man them? I didn't really notice it shooting anything in the F8 view. And do they have their own energy supply or do they use up the entire ship's energy just like the forward guns?

I have found various timelines regarding the WC universe. But they all seem different to me. There's one on CIC, there's one on the Aces site. What's more accurate?

I tried using the Galaxy in Privateer and I got some bad results. First mission already blown to bits. I meet like 2 Retros and they pulverize me within 30 seconds. The ship is huge!! So is it even possible to play the game with the Galaxy?

I tried to use that part, but now Moslo won't start the game. It just stalls there. I tried running it without Moslo and it works, but with Moslo it doesn't work. My Moslo version is v1.32b(trial version). Anyone have an idea of what's wrong?

The way I run Privateer is I edited the config.sys file. If I remember correctly, I added the lines: DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS DEVICEHIGH=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE to the config.sys file. The emm386.exe file loads the Expanded memory needed to play the sounds and speech. Make sure you...

I'd like to know what the system requirements for Privateer are. The ones on the box I guess. I wanna slow down my computer appropriately with Moslo so that the game runs at the right speed. Thanks.:)
