Always Up for Arrow Art (October 16, 2023)

Beautiful and must be about the size as my 3D printed Arrow model, which has been printed and painted by Adam Burch back in 2013. It is more than 20 cm long (about 21-22 cm I guess) ... I didn't take the glass cabin off to take the photos. I love it. @ Chris or LOAF ... if you like, you can...

Anyone else sit for 3 hours fighting ships at the end of WC3 for PSX until figuring out they had to cloak?

Never underestimate a fast and maneuverable ship like the Arrow. And even though not as fast as the Armada Arrow, the WC3 Arrow could kick your ass with its auto sliding function just like the Excalibur (pressing Caps Lock). It's a pity that this function never worked reliable on the German...

Anyone else sit for 3 hours fighting ships at the end of WC3 for PSX until figuring out they had to cloak?

So you mean, the cloaking device was added later even though it wasn't originally planned? The game would have been much more difficult without it. But then again, why do you have to fly the Excalibur? OK, obviously the Arrow doesn't have enough room for the templor bomb. A light fast fighter...

Anyone else sit for 3 hours fighting ships at the end of WC3 for PSX until figuring out they had to cloak?

Well ... I've seen the last mission at a friend of mine first, who had a much faster computer in 1995 ... he had a 486 DX2-66 while I had only a 386 with 40 MHz, which was way too slow and without a CD-ROM drive. Good old days... But yeah ... I might have tried to cloak first, before fighting...

    Privateer Logical Map

Hey everybody, it's a pity... or to say it with Catscratch's words: "I am very sorry, Sir!". So far, I've not found any other hidden jump points in Privateer. I've tweaked the game files and even flew with a much faster Centurion (over 4.000 kps max speed) through the sectors. Alas, I have not...

The Arrow is indeed beautiful! 😍

Privateer Mission Series Gap Explained! (June 5, 2023)

Wow, what an interesting fund. What a pity that they didn't include it in the final game. I don't think the game data would have grown too much to sell the game on floppy disks. Damn it. I really would have liked to fly these missions, although they tend to ruin your standing with the good...

Privateer 2 Previews Present Mystery Ships (May 7, 2023)

Yes, I would actually look at it from the other direction: The first Privateer was just an epic game, but "Privateer 2: The Darkening" wasn't worth the name "Privateer" and was a total disappointment in my eyes. Freelancer was a much better game but not as good as good ol' Privateer!

Happy Birthday Tim Curry.. and LOAF! (April 19, 2023)

Happy birthday your Highness! It's an honor to have you with us. Thank you for inspiring us for all these years! I've found something today... a little test I that I programmed back in 2010. A sidescroller test for an Wing Commander arcade game. I didn't finish it... not yet... you know the...

    Wing commander : Maverick Trailer

I hope you don't mind me answering in English... but it's easier for the others to understand. Even though I'm a native German speaker (obviously from Germany), I've seen lots of movies in English, because I just wanted to hear the original voice of the actors. However, I must say that I usually...

Introducing Pixel Art Kilrathi Fighters (March 24, 2023)

Funny, indeed. I know I haven't tell you... but it was back in 1995/1996 when I started programming a computer game with some friends from school. I was 14 then and the co programmer and responsible for ALL game graphics. I painted them all pixel for pixel in sprites. Another friend was...

Interview: Joel Manners, Lead Designer on Wing Commander: Privateer

Thank you for the information. It was new for me, too. Would have loved to asked him how many hidden jump point are in the game. ;)

Lego Arrow Zooms In (March 18, 2023)

Yes, you're right. It was just a one man's dream. Well, now I still had to stifle a little tear, because that would have been too good to be true.

Lego Arrow Zooms In (March 18, 2023)

Yes, and again my fault: I compared the Armada Arrow to the Armada Banshee ... but yes, the quote of Plier points to the Border Worlds Banshee. I would still fly the Arrow... It would be great if you could fly the Arrow in the Wing Commander 4 Remastered version. It was not possible in the...

Comparing Privateer to Its Earlier Builds (March 13, 2023)

No problem, I certainly didn't misunderstand either. After all, we've been in contact for... ... for over 23 years. Time sure flew by, didn't it? And I'm 41 in the meantime... so also an "old hand"... Yes, the Test Bed is always a niec place to go. And it doesn't have asteroids 😁 ... as far as...

Lego Arrow Zooms In (March 18, 2023)

Nice model and yes, I think the biggest problem is the canopy ... the form just doesn't feel right as it's too round. Anyway, it's always nice to see my most favorite ship in the news! Keep up the good work! Edit: The side view and top view of the model look really great! Oh and one more thing...

Comparing Privateer to Its Earlier Builds (March 13, 2023)

Thank you! I'll keep on searching to find the secret jump point... Oh... and one more thing (to say it with Blair's words: It's Rylex (comes from Alex) ;)
