Hi boatgeek, I dropped all of mine to the National Videogame Museum in Sheffield, might be worth contacting them; I didn't have a copy of the Kilrathi Saga to give them.
What I find interesting is the thought that most action orientated 80s and 90s cartoon shows were more about being vehicles for selling toys (thinking MASK, Transformers, He-Man etc.) were there ever any plans for toys for WCATV? I know there were a few toys released for the movie.
Not...
Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2 are great games!
I'd be really interested to see what Ron Gilbert comes up with. I can't work out people's hostile attitudes sometimes, it seems to defy all logic.
What an epic day it was when this came out and I got the big box as a gift off my parents, straight onto the PC until bedtime! I did wonder who the shadowy figure was at the time.
Looks sharp! I have been playing through Tie fighter again (reliving my youth); up to battle 10, but I will need to restart looking at the quality of this!
anyone else get a "kilrathi-esque" vibe off that black lance carrier? I could imagine if it can cloak or something it might have kilrathi technology integrated maybe?
Its an impressive trailer and looking at some of the gameplay videos I get the feeling that they've got it 'right' in terms of feel for the main part. Not sure about the 5 v 5 mechanic, but I don't have a PC capable of running it so I won't be able to test it. Have fun if you do pick it up
That is a nifty piece of history;
I am always amazed at the cost of the games back then, $60; and after all this time they are still about the $60 mark. Allowing for inflation they should be over $100
It had some really good ideas, even on the logistics side with having to organise missile supplies and replacement ships, having to escort your own freighters etc. agreed the flight engine was a little mediocre though.
that's pretty interesting. I never picked up Barnes ship was a Sabre
I kind of thought the strakha / Sartha was a prototype proof of concept retrofit thingy in my mind, before they designed a dedicated fighter (Strakha could have been its codename :) )
The last one, I thought that was a Rapier...
