    Wing Commander 3 Premiere Edition!

Thanks! Reading the Victory Streak has been a lot of fun. The history of the war was fascinating and I adore that they named a planet after Christa McAuliffe of the Challenger disaster. The amount of detail and care put into the supplemental material is incredible. You don't really see that...

    Wing Commander 3 Premiere Edition!

Hey everyone! Been ages since I've visited here. I just got the film can WC3 today and got it up and running after a while of fiddling with DOSbox. I love that GOG released the games and I got them all, but there's just something about doing it yourself, as much as the old days. Typing in WC3...

WC3 KSaga Patch - for Movie Crashing bug

Yup, all the old LucasArts games. I always make sure my old games work on new computers, no matter what. There's a relatively recent Sam and Max game, not by LucasArts, I think it's the Adventure Company, but it is FANTASTIC. It's a bunch of mini-games, not one long one, just episodes. Very...

    Wing Commander 3 Deluxe Edition

Right. 8 megs. I had 4 originally in my old computer, THAT'S what it was. Wasn't enough.

Wing Commander 4 DVD in WindowsXP (w/ DirectShow)

It's the doublesided one. The video playback seems as though it's in PAL format, a bit of a quicker playback, if anyone has ever checked out differences between PAL and NTSC. It's not a huge difference, but it's definitely being played faster than it should. Luckily, replacing that DCWXI.dll or...

Wing Commander 4 DVD in WindowsXP (w/ DirectShow)

Is the video for WC4 on DVD supposed to be just a wee bit faster than on CD? Is it just that it looks smoother? Are my eyes playing tricks on me, or is my computer playing the video too fast somehow?

    Wing Commander 3 Deluxe Edition

Ahhh man, I was lucky enough to have gotten WC3 in this packaging. My mom got it from Costco at the time! So, it definitely wasn't mail order or super hard to find. Great packaging. It was my first "Needs 4 megs of RAM" game!

    Just gotta say..

Gameplay not fun??? Hells BELLS. Wing Commander IV remains, to this day, my favorite game on any system ever. Can't reach that status if it ain't a fully immersive, fun as hell game. But that's just me, I guess. WC3 rules, all of it, but WC4 rules just a wee bit harder.

The Hardest thing you had to do in Wing Commander??

Watching Vagabond die really bothered me a hell of alot. He was my favorite secondary character.

WC3 KSaga Patch - for Movie Crashing bug

Ohhhh boy, thank you for this. That's the only problem I've had getting WC3 to fully run on my Vista 64 bit computer. I've built a brand new, wicked quick computer, and have managed to get EVERY single old game I have and love to work. It's really quite ridiculous, I have this fantastic rig...

    Holy CRAP!

Excellent. Thanks for that link. Man, I dunno what it is, but I just have had WC on the brain of late. I think I might have a marathon my next day off. How've you been, Chris? Been quite a while.

    Holy CRAP!

So it's been quite a while since I've visited this forum. I used to come here often back in the day, and have recently felt nostalgiac. I started playing old PC games like Day of the Tentacle and Wing Commander IV, and that urged me to come see what's doin' at this old joint. Lo and behold...

Crazy Things You Did While Playing WC

I wouldn't say it's crazy but my mom let me skip school the day WC4 came out and I played it for 12 hours straight, if not longer. Sadly, one of the best days of my life.

15 Years of Wing Commander - What Was Your First Time Like?

Honestly, I find older games very charming, I recently replayed Day of the Tentacle and Indy and the Fate of Atlantis and just being so damn happy to play those games.

15 Years of Wing Commander - What Was Your First Time Like?

Terrashok, your story about WC3 is awesome. I can definitely relate to moments like that. Very cool. My first immersion into the WC universe was when WC3 came out, I got a new computer and that game that day. I didn't know what WC was at all, but my buddy Dave told me it was cool. I mainly...

    Kilrathi Saga Disc One

Yeah, I recall seeing it when it first came out and thinking, "Eh, if I don't get it now, I'll get it later." WHOOPS. Anyhoo. Problem solved. Thanks for those who wrote in.

    Kilrathi Saga Disc One

Yeah, that's the thing. I only want WC3 and I can't install it without disc one. Dadgummit.

    Kilrathi Saga Disc One

I got the Kilrathi Saga a while back but lost disc one in a move, and it sadly wasn't installed onto my computer at the time, so I have no way of making the games work at all. Specifically Wing Commander 3. Any ideas?

    Favorite cutscene?

Ah yes, the losing briefings. Man.......those were great, especially the last one. Very touching. The opening and closing scenes for WC4 are top notch as well. I have a fondness for the opening, especially...it was like going back to a universe, to friends that I missed quite a bit.

    Favorite cutscene?

Does anyone have a favorite cutscene from any of the WC games? I have a few. My FAVORITE one would definitely be from WC4 when Blair lands at the Black Lance headquarters and spies on the meeting and runs away, pulling a Luke Skywalker. AWESOME cutscene, lot of action and intrigue. Second...
