Forbes Explores Star Citizen History (May 4, 2019)

I've followed SC since the beginning (backer 101, I think?). One of the more frustrating things to hear people fill conversations about SC is that what we're now seeing 'wasn't in the original pitch'. I don't think anyone disagrees with this. But following along closely with the game's...

Classic Rapiers Spotted In Initial Movie Sketch (April 20, 2016)

Thoughtful present. Seeing that Rapier render still reminds me of a Micro Machines ship I had as a kid - the resemblance is beyond co-incidental, IMHO. I think the designer was a Wing Commander fan. :)

Wing Commander Album To Begin Shipping (January 5, 2016)

Thanks for posting the photos, Whistler! Some fun names in there - Pedro Camacho - Composer for Star Citizen Cloud Imperium Games George A Sanger ('The Fat Man' - Wing Commander 1 composer) There's probably a whole bunch more that I'm not recognising. Kind of wish I left my name on the...

    Break formation and open presents!

Looks great! When one of these companies works out a way to make the models not look like they're not coated in sugar, I'll be all over this. :)

Wing Commander Saga Deutsch Release countdown

I have clearly met the better educated Germans, then. ;) Alf? Haha. Takes me back a few years. :) It must be strange listening to something quite familiar to you, such as a well known British or American actor speaking with the wrong voice but in your language. :)

Wing Commander Saga Deutsch Release countdown

It's like the English version - but with words I don't understand! ;) Great to see German fans getting to enjoy this. A question though - Every German I know speaks English. Is it fair to say that's representative? For those that are bi-lingual (or tri! or more! :)), do you prefer to listen to...

    New 3D Thread

Well said, Maslas. Love the troop ship design, Klavs. Really nice work on her. No anti-fighter turrets? Looks like one would look quite nice on the top, forward panel there...

Clive Owen Joins Luc Besson's Valerian (August 22, 2015)

Or Sin City. Or The Bourne Identity. I love you, CIC, but seriously - he's best known for Priv2? Amongst CIC visitors, perhaps. Certainly no further. ;)

Hellcat cockpit in the WC2 style

Woah. Great work there, HCl! Seeing an Arrow in WC2 is neat. But thinking of the possibility of seeing them in Privateer is far, far more exciting for me personally. That would be sweet! Especially if additional ships could somehow be worked into the game. Not sure if it would be possible...

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

So, having a look at this tonight, most of the capship models on that site have a huge variety of textures - 10-15 on some of them. This is surely not how you'll be bringing them in-engine? Are you rolling up the UV maps to create a couple of larger textures?

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

Cheers - I'll take a look. Any special requests to start with ship wise?

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

L.I.F. - can you send me a couple of textures for various Kilrathi ships? I'd be interesting in experimenting with 'upresing' them - throw me some ships you're least happy with and I'll take a stab - no promises, but I'd be interested to see if I could put together some Photoshop base layers...

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

That's true, but they'd be the perfect starting point to 'bake' detailed normal maps and then use them as the basis to build lower poly versions to use in game. A significant part of the Remastered's improved graphical punch is from normal maps, giving the illusion of greater detail than is...

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

I.I.F. - Great work man. Really interested to check this out when it's near a complete state and I've finished the single player campaigns. I'm interested to know - what is involved with working on the AI? Without knowing how it all works, it sounds like a very complex thing to customise...Or...

WC4 Mod For Homeworld 2 In The Works (June 5, 2006)

Great to see this resurrected, guys! Once it's all ported over, the obvious next step would be to start taking advantage of all those pretty new capabilities Gearbox has added to the engine like normal maps etc. Easier said than done, I know. :)

    Saving a Dragon!

Great story, Ben. Thanks for sharing. It's cool to see how many of the ex-Origin folk have stayed in contact over the years. Clearly they had as much fun making games together as we had playing them. She really needs a plaque or something to explain the significance of the prop. Like...

BREAKING NEWS: Wing Commander in Concert Tomorrow! (July 3, 2014)

Dang. That's a real shame. :( Thanks for the update, capi. I guess I'll just wait until later this year when Oldzie's own recording is available. I really can't wait. :)

BREAKING NEWS: Wing Commander in Concert Tomorrow! (July 3, 2014)

How'd it go, capi? I'd love to hear this if you managed to get it. :)

Hellcat cockpit in the WC2 style

That looks fantastic, HCI. Great work as usual. :) Have you considered taking renders of Howard's Tiger's Claw or Hornet models and placing them in-engine? Would be pretty cool to see up-resed WC1 ships in there.

    Wing Commander re-imagined...

Some innaccuracies with the canopy that make it looks odd compared to the original drawing by dczanik, but that looks pretty darn cool.
