    Saving Dr. Severin—Are they serious?

I've been playing the game on Hard. I compromised and Rookied through this particular mission just to get through it, though. It's not so much the difficulty that bothers me, it's the nature of the difficulty and the fact that there isn't anything enjoyable about the mission for me.

    Saving Dr. Severin—Are they serious?

First of all, if you are not in the mood for a (probably) unoriginal topic full of complaining and ranting then you should stop reading now! I've been playing through WC3 for the first time in a long time, and it is a fantastic experience. I think that it's in all likelihood the best game of...

    Let's discuss tactics...

There may be some good advice on the youtube Let's Play run-through of the game. The Youtube account is Adarisa, and he's a beast. Currently he's doing WC3, but there should be a lot of good advice in the Standoff videos (he plays on Nightmare to boot).

Wing Commander: Eagle Rising - A Game Idea

This looks pretty good so far. I'd offer up some callsign ideas for your protagonist, but I don't think there's enough information on her personality yet to do so. Good luck with the project, I hope to see some more progress in this thread.

Wing Commander Saga Marks Download Record (April 1, 2012)

Congratulations on the incredible response! Who knows what this may mean for the future of WC (here's hoping that game designers take notice), and thanks very much for your contribution.

    The Wildcat Fighter

The Scimitar didn't necessarily always carry five missiles. There are a lot of fighters (Arrow V, Thunderbolt VII) that ended up having more missiles in later games as a sign of advancing times/upgrade of the fighter's role and capacity. Granted, there's no reason to assume the Scimitars didn't...

    The Wildcat Fighter

Wow, that's quite a bit of firepower for something twenty years before WC1. Do we know if the Wildcat was classified as a Heavy fighter? I'm guessing it would at least be a Medium. Seems like I need to track down my copy of Action Stations about now!

    The Wildcat Fighter

I'd like to ask what is known about the Wildcat fighter which (I believe) is depicted in the Action Stations novel, and (what some of us think) may be the first episode of the Academy TV Series. My memory is very sketchy, but I think Tolwyn actually fought in a Wildcat during part of the novel...

Service entry dates for Confed fighters

Do you think this means that previous versions of the Thunderbolt (in other words 1-6) were produced earlier? Or do you think that those just never made it off the cutting room floor?

Service entry dates for Confed fighters

What sort of conclusions have people drawn from these designations? To me it would appear that the Arrow (both by virture of its F-27 and V designations) pre-dates the Rapier (which is new in 2654, no?) Also, the Thunderbolt and Scimitar have HF and CF designations, respectively. Considering...

    Kill Count Challenge?

This sounds like fun, particularly since I just started playing again. Would you be opposed to me "merely" doing some of the later games (as in WC3/4 and maybe Propechy)? Also, what difficulty do you suggest for those games in particular? I feel confident that I could complete 3 on "Hard"...

Rogue Elite Squadron from the TCS Hyperion was the bees knees ladies and gents. Anyone affiliated with that still hanging around? Edit: it wasn't a part of AceNet by the way.

    Pliers' Ship Selection Quotes

If you really think that's what I'm saying... then good for you, I guess. Before WC4 I (and probably others) did not even know how to access the 'special' guns like stormfire and leech, it's not brain surgery or "ridiculous" to gather that Pliers' statement about stormfires is (at least in...

    Pliers' Ship Selection Quotes

Are you serious? This is what you said about the WC1 quote I have referenced: "It isn't really something added later - the idea that Maniac and Blair went to the Academy together has been canonical since the Wing Commander I & II Ultimate Strategy Guide... and there are some strong...

    Pliers' Ship Selection Quotes

And one other thing: Wing Commander games are FULL or arbitrary comments that are simply intended to inform the player of new game features (new fighters/weaponry etc.) For example, WC2 has characters explaining the function and advantages of fighters when in reality Blair would have...

    Pliers' Ship Selection Quotes

Well... isn't that a bit of a stretch? At the most it implies that the Intrepid has only one stormfire. The fact that it is "old technology" that has been discarded because of its short range makes it at least plausible that the Border Worlds would be using them (just like they use old...
