What did you download? (url, preferably) What OS?

    cvsroot?

I'm assuming this is because the search omits 3-letter words. I searched for cvs first as well and it returned nothing (which I *knew* was incorrect, so I tried a longer word).

    cvsroot?

Ok, I performed a forum search for "cvsroot" for you. It returned 3 threads, including yours. The answer to your query was in BOTH of the other threads. Take your pick: http://www.crius.net/zone/showthread.php?t=16895 http://www.crius.net/zone/showthread.php?t=16817 (and do your own...

    Privateer Remake 1.0 - Bugs

    * P:R (win) creates "temporary" music files in c:\temp if it exists, even if this folder is not set as a tempory folder in WindowsXP (set via environment variable temp or tmp, default is %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp - variable is retrieved using the windows api call GetTempPath() ). If the...

    End of story....?

That starts the Righteous Fire campaign (which was an official expansion of the original).

    Privateer Remake 1.0 - Bugs

No, it's a bug. Shelton slide should still require afterburner-energy to maintain speed at e.g. 1000 for the Cent (or 1200 for the Demon).

    Privateer Remake 1.0 - Bugs

Regarding missing mouse cursor: Do either of you have joystick set to enabled? If so, try disabling it in the setup.

    Privateer Remake 1.0 - Bugs

Uhmm.. so you're missing the pointer? Yeah, that sounds like a problem. Works on my WinXP Pro (SP2) system.

    My Fleet

And if it's not stripped down, you still won't get much for it. IIRC, you need to sell the extras first to get anything for it.

    Privateer Remake 1.0 - Bugs

Confed, "a ghost retucule to indicate where you are turning to" wouldn't make sense, since any mouse offset *keeps* turning the ship. (if I understand what you are saying) What *would* be extremely useful, IMHO, is a change in color of the X when not centered (+-) or making it something...

    Wow...fast

As JKeefe said, been there done that ;-). Velocity should be *twice* yours (if you are much heavier than it, and it is at rest). The easiest way to see this is the argument I initially presented in the thread above (but forgot to convert the speed back to the "universe coordinate system"...

    Wow...fast

Speed matching works with cargo as well as other ships - regardless of distance. Speed matching also works by adding the velocity vector of the ship (i.e. it isn't *speed* matching, it's *velocity*matching) to your own velocity vector. This allows you to go e.g. 2000kps if you are in a...

    Bolt speeds

This isn't an issue about AI levels, ya dolts ;-). Thanks for hijacking an attempt at a serious thread.

    Bolt speeds

Weapons (bolts) seem to travel a lot slower relative to ships than in the original. I searched the forum for any previous discussions on the topic and found an exchange in the pre-release QA thread, which ends with this post: I was wondering what, if any, conclusion there was to this issue. In...

    Missile Slingshot bug

For the lazy, here's the "answer" to the collision problem (the algebra is a tad tedious, so I'll leave it out): v2 = v1*(m-M)/(m+M) + V1*2M/(m+M) V2 = v1*2m/(m+M) + V1*(M-m)/(m+M) No assumptions about which is heavier has been made (nor anything about the velocities). Simply conservation...

    Missile Slingshot bug

You are incorrect. This is where you are making the mistake. By choosing your decrease, you can use conservation of momentum to make the final velocity *exactly* what you want. This clearly isn't "physical", so let's try and take it one step further without making these random assumptions...

    Missile Slingshot bug

Yes, but if the box was at rest, it wouldn't go flying off at a higher speed than that of the shuttle. This really is physics 101. Trust me, I've tought it.
