Any estimation on the size of Nephilim capships?

What's Your Real Opinion About the Movie?

Adm Wilson was supposed to be a traitor? Capt Sansky in colusion with Wilson? What was the traitor plot supposed to be AD? I never got my hands on the novel.

What's Your Real Opinion About the Movie?

Actually, I thought Sansky was a rather poor CO. He was quite indecisive during the combat against the Kilrathi fleet near the middle of the film. After Sansky died, it was in many ways the actions of Gerald (even more so than Paladin or Blair) that brought the Tiger's Claw into a position where...

    Armada Lexington Questions

My main gripe is that all of the mass figures in the game, from the Lex to the Shiraak, and all of the fighters are many way too low.

    Nephilim Tech

This kind of makes sense now that I think about it. I am going to do a little experiment. I'll blow up a bridge shield emitter on an Orca, then shoot at the bridge area. Of course my guns won't cause any damage, but I wonder if I'll still see a shield impact effect. Was there any elaboration...

What's Your Real Opinion About the Movie?

As I get older and older, I like the movie more and more. I don't really know why though. I just looked up the wikipedia page on the WCM. It stated that the events of "Pilgrim Stars" has the Tiger's Claw fighting Pilgrims in the Sol Sector at the same time that WC1 would have the Claw in the...

    Armada Lexington Questions

The only figure that really perplexes me is the mass of the carrier. 3,250 tonnes for a ship 725 meters in length designed for long-range operations and complete self-sufficiency just seems way too light and doesn't mesh well with all of the others in pantheon of Wing Commander capital ships.

    Nephilim Tech

If this is the case, then why can't torpedoes get a phase-lock through them? What is different about the externally emitted shield as opposed to the shields where the emitters are located internally? Also, we know that we can only lock torpedoes onto sensitive areas. Does this imply that in...

    Nephilim Tech

What was the Nephilim's true level of technology? How far off would Confed be from creating large, fleet-scale plasma weapons in the latter 27th Century(that is if they wanted to do it to begin with), individual external shield emitters, and artificial long range portals? Would the plasma weapon...

BREAKING NEWS: Wing Commander for the PSP! (August 14, 2006)

Wow! I didn't ever realize just how cool the PSP was until I started shopping for one. I thought it was just another Gameboy or Game Gear. This thing is like a mini-PS2.

    Lexington Depression

Hi guys, I have just a few quick questions, but I don't think it warrants starting up a whole new discussion thread. I couldn't find anything conclusive with the 'search' button, and with LOAF's updated ship doc, things may have changed a little. How many Carriers does Confed have before the...

    Lexington Depression

I just installed the Arena editor for Wing Commander IV, but I got the following error message - Missing Device Driver (EGAVGA.BGI) When I downloaded a copy of this specific file and pasted it in the WC4 directory, I got - Invalid Device Driver (EGAVGA.BGI) Anybody come across this...

Backing up the conversation just a bit; would anyone know if a WCIV editing program exists? Just looking for ways to alter ship specs or make user missions.

    Lexington Depression

Just curious LOAF, what was the gameplay issue? Wing Commander II manual entry for the AMG... Now, the WC III manual's entry... I wasn't trying to specifically say that the AMG was gone in Prophecy, I was attempting to figure out why the 2664 AMG is described as a huge battery to be used...

...or the past. We know that older battleships like the North Carolina, Malta, and Belarus were armed with plasma batteries. I wouldn't say better though, just different.

    Lexington Depression

I think I was trying to figure out why they are classified as 'secondary' weapons on friendly and enemy capital ships in 2669, and what the 'primary' weapons might have been. I don't think that I was suggesting that the gun itself becomes less powerful. In fact I stated that the physical specs...

    Lexington Depression

Just a thought... We know that the AMG came as refinement in the particle gun and has been equipped on Confed ships since the Concordia-class Super Cruisers (if not before). The technical specs of the AMG in WC II and III pretty much match, but their descriptions do not. The WC II AMG is hailed...

    Post WC4 Fleet info

I don't remember this. Although, I do remember the Ajax taking out a Fralthi II in head on combat (in Freya or Hyperion).

It would have been nice though if Paulsen at least kept some escort ships around. A destroyer or a cruiser would have at least increased the mission difficulty a little. Does anyone remember what the Lexington's fighter force consisted of at this time according to the novel?
