And if you end up flying with Maniac in WC1, it's because you screwed up.

    WC Science 101

Yes, the Tarawa was a jeep carrier. One of the first, IIRC. The smallest ship carrying fighters that I know of is the Bonny Heather.

    WC I...newbie needs help...

I heard that it was one of the missions they wrote hard in order to make sure it wasn't a free ride all the way to Venice.

You can usually spot the Drayman on the nav map if you get separated. I've got KS, and I never managed to save the Ralari. And by the way, it's Gratha, not Gratka.

    Or both. TCS Concordia, anyone?

    Missile launch! Hit the deck!

Raven, The IR memorizes the visual signature of the target: Image Recognition. What you are talking about is nothing new, infrared seekers have been around a long time. Classic example: the AIM-9 Sidewinder. As for the Shar N'Tanya, it is a Ralatha, so you can't hurt it with FoFs anyway.

    Missile launch! Hit the deck!

We don't have either FoFs or IRs. We have heatseekers and radar trackers.

    Weird but interesting.

I believe that the official designation was the TCS Mount St. Helens, but when referred to in ordinary speech, it was shortened to the St. Helens. Much the same way the modern day Ticonderoga is referred to as the Tico.

    Missile launch! Hit the deck!

The AMRAAM isn't exactly brand new. It has been in use for about ten years already; it was used in the Gulf. I haven't heard any of this friendly fire stuff either, though. Also, concerning the radar, it is an LPI or Low Probability of Intercept radar, which is a very high frequency that is...

I'd have to fly one to be sure on that count.

You actually get to see wartime Marine combat armor in WC2. Near the end, when Blair is talking to Jazz, under guard, you can see two Marines in armored space suits standing in the background.

    Female Kilrathi ?

Like I said before, I haven't finished SM2, but I'm pretty sure Sivar was referred to as a he in Freedom Flight, as well as Prophecy. In Fleet Action though, Sivar is referred to as a goddess.

    Female Kilrathi ?

There has been a great deal of confusion over the gender of the war god Sivar. It has been referred to as both male and female, as I recall.

    Missile launch! Hit the deck!

I didn't say it is an IR. It is a radar homing missile. It locks on to the radar signature of the target and doesn't let go. It is one of the most accurate missiles in the US arsenal, topped only by the AIM-54 Phoenix.

    Female Kilrathi ?

I still haven't been able to finish SM2 (keep ramming the damn Hhriss with low shields.) >( As for Thrak's sister, she kills people and makes over-the-top proclamations about Sivar. She sort of disappears partway through "Glory of Sivar" IIRC. [Edited by Fenris on 06-02-2001 at 02:01]

    Missile launch! Hit the deck!

Oh, yes, they are quite expensive. I doubt they are much more expensive than the relatively new Russian R-77, though. (I think that's the one I'm thinking of, anyway...)

    Missile launch! Hit the deck!

mpanty, the AIM-120 AMRAAM is the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile presently in use in the United States military, supplanting the AIM-7 Sparrow radar-guided missile. The AIM-120 is an active radar seeker, making it a fire-and-forget weapon; the missile's seeker head locks onto the...

    Female Kilrathi ?

Not in the games, though the last two episodes of WCA have Thrakhath's sister in them.
