    how do the oldies do?

Well if your playing wc1 on the same machine as wcIV without a slowdown utility then yes I suppose the wc1 missions are signifigantly harder ;) , otherwise I'd say wcIV on the hardest difficulty is harder then wc1 and wcIII on the hardest difficulty is close counting sm but still harder.

Another good review of Wing Commander

While I'm not a huge fan of censorship, and dislike the idea of a game being out and out banned, I don't see the problem with non-american versions robot alternative. Maybe I simply haven't seen the worst cases, but in my eyes contra/probonator is just as fun with a robot guy as a human guy...

    Lefty's Forgotten Minority

Stormbird if you use your left hand for the joystick do you put the joystick to the left of the keyboard? I've always had the joystick in front of the middle of the keyboard, but if you were to use that setup lefthanded your hands would be crossed when applying afterburn in wc games. Huh...

    Lefty's Forgotten Minority

hum are you sure your flying lefthanded, it's a little odd which hand gets assigned what tasks. I'm left handed as such I hate the right handed mice out there, some are ok but some are downright unusable to us lefties. Despite being very much left handed I usually find the joystick goes in my...

Another good review of Wing Commander

Kill, kill, kill, kill, drink, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, drink. I don't know, it sounds like a perfectly normal life to me  . Not all the wing commanders if any actually had teens as the target, after all the main target for computer games is 30-40 year olds or so isn't it? Not to...

    Sorry it's been a while

When you were young? I thought the tick cartoon was only two or three years old, of course that could just be my ol ridiculously inacurate preception of time acting up on me again.

Most fun and most difficult mission

Eeep, don't be so picky wedge, you know to what I was refering. WCPSO - Although Prophecy isn't in the title, it's clear what game your refering to. WC2:SO - A clear way to refer to the special operations WCSO- not so clear.

Most fun and most difficult mission

I like when people use WCPSO, that way you know they are referring to Wing Commander Secret ops, as apposed to WC special ops. Of course the really confusing thing is WCA, [it could be academy the game, academy the show ,or armada].

Most fun and most difficult mission

By most difficult, are you refering to wcpso or all the wc games? Off the top of my head I can think of quite a few missions in wc games that I though were more difficult. -Any mission in wcIV ;) -Wc2 retrive the data pod -wc1 any mission flying a scimitar If you enjoy taking out capships...

keyboard commands for a new WC game

Humm, that keyboard layout looks a lot like the one for homeworld ,*gasp*, what a surprise  . Not to mention that some vital commands seem to be omited, I'd hate to try to get through a WC with out my autopilot. There's over an hour of flight between some points in wcIII.

Aesthetics ... Which WC Do You Like Best?

Humm, aesthetically speaking, wcIV was my fav for inflight, but In my opinion the overall aesthetic appeal is greatest in wc2. Inflight graphics may not be up to wcIV but they holdup, WcII beats out wcIV once you take into account some of wcII's animated cutscences though. It's certianly a close...

    Tolwyn: fallen hero or villian?

woopsy, I editied my whole post, oh well it's not like you can't just run back to any of about twenty other tolwyn threads to get an idea of what my views are on this. This is getting a wee bit redundent by now. [Edited by Dekkar on 07-15-2001 at 12:51]

Wow Great Game!!! (But its really hard)

Am I the ONLY person who liked WCIV's missions better?? I always found WCIV missions thrilling, even the early missions could be the end if you got sloppy, all it takes is one missle or collision.

    Important Petition - Please Read

Humm if this thread isn't mocking the "Wing Commander Continuation Petition" then I think you should just pay the extra fifty cents and tell them to add bacon :) . I don't think a petition full, of I don't eat there but, I'm signing signitures will be all that convincing. The really funny thing...

    Games

Um starcraft was pretty much "build-a-base-gather-resources-build-an-army-and-destroy-the-enemy-base". As was battlezone, another game I liked, "build-a-base-gather-resources-build-an-army-and-destroy-the-enemy-base" is fine by me when done nicely.
