Cargo does float around with zero or near-zero velocity after an explosion. It only takes off when you bump it. I beleive cargo disintegrated if you bumped/rammed it in the original, but my memory is hazy. Regardless, the high resulting velocity makes perfect sense in the context of momentum...

IMO it is preferable to have a slightly discotinous and disconcerting transition into RF than it is to invent some wacky and out-of-place story.

I don't beleive there is a way to cycle "o" brings up your objectives screen unless you're in the Tarsus. "O" supposedly blanks the MFD, although I have never tried it.

What do you mean by "Space Forces"? Organizations like the Confed and the militia?

On a Centurion, it should be. On ships that do not support that capability (i.e. Demon) you can buy tractor capability for the missile rail and then put a tractor beam there.

Use F9 to match speed with your target, then chop your throttle to zero and afterburn to within 1000m. Turn your ship so that your turret is facing the cargo, and then you should be able to jump into the turret and tractor easily.

Neat ideas. I wonder if they can all be worked into the engine... One problem with this, though, is that it takes away the ability to go flying around with your boosted gun blowing up ships in a single shot. While it certanly gets old after a while, I wouldn't want it to end before I was ready.
