    Best Simulator!!

I liked the WC1 simulator. It was annoying you couldn't change the fighter available (after flying my first mission on the Scimitar, I had hoped it would be available on the simulator so I could get used to the different turn rates and speed, but no luck), but that was really the only part I...

    A little something I heard

There was also an entire city that was spared. The inhabitants tricked Joshua into believing they'd come from outside Caanan, and got him to agree not to wipe them out. Then a couple of days later, Joshua discovered that the people he'd negotiated with were from the city just over the next...

    Starlancer

Tempting, but I've never been too keen on the idea of blowing over $100 for a joystick. My old Sidewinder 3D Pro still works quite well, thankyouverymuch (although I understand that might not be the case if I ever upgrade to XP).

    Treasure Hunt

Is that the one that you're paired up with Stiletto in and you have to search an asteroid field for a comm device of some sort? If so, the problem isn't the number of mantas you have to kill. The problem is that for whatever reason, you have to find the item before Stiletto does. No, it...

    Starlancer

That sounds painful. Bad enough what happens without force feedback when you get nicked by one of the anti-fighter beams or you find yourself in the middle of a bunch of flak bursts. I can imagine that with FF it would be a rather interesting experience.

    Starlancer

As opposed to a lone Freelancer with his allies fighting a group of mind controlling aliens bent on galactic domination.

    Anyone played Tachyon: The Fringe?

The thing I hated was the wingmen. In order to get a wingman in the first place, you had to pay a hefty retainer fee. Then the wingmen got a cut of your profits. But some missions were completely unsuited for using wingmen in (and any you brought along would probably die instant deaths). To...

    Starlancer

That is indeed pretty much the story. Greedy coalition twerps fake a peace agreement to get the drop on the good guys, and proceed to wipe out all opposition up to Neptune (or something like that). Then the good guys rally and slowly work their way back into the inner system. Eventually, it...

Which PC game are you most looking forward to?

Bloodmoon, for Morrowind, and The Frozen Throne for Warcraft III. Other than that, there's not much that's caught my attention lately.

    Hey Chris Reid

Or is that supposed to be a Cheesecake photo of the Cheesecake Factory plushy?

    Hey Chris Reid

Yes, I suspect most here know what the Cheesecake Factory is (there's one a couple of blocks from where I work), but the word Cheesecake and Film puts more one in mind of Betty Page.

    Anyone played Tachyon: The Fringe?

Don't remember it being buggy when I played it, but it was a pain to pass. Can't remember what I ended up doing, although I think part of it involved spending lots and lots of time in the blind spots of turrets.

Anyone else find this amusing? From Gay and Lesbian film festival to Cheesecake? :D Er... Maybe not...

    Wing Commander 3 Impossible Mission

Technically, you can fly those missions without ANY wingmen (my preferred way to do it since I don't particularly care to take them along on missions where they have to die), so the only thing the game checks for is that you have less than the critical number of wingmen at each 'infinite waves'...

    Anyone played Tachyon: The Fringe?

And probably my favorite (for no particular reason)... "That's the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel!!" Interesting game, although I didn't think it went far enough with the freeform element.

    Smoking Gun

It had CCCP written on it because the people expected to read it knew Cryllic, not English. Dunno why the fact it had that written on it would be of any importance. Similarly, the Lend Lease materials donated by the US to the Soviet Union during WW2 had the letters USA stenciled on them...

    Protester Arrested

And, of course, the North Koreans don't have nukes because they'd like to blackmail South Korea into forceably rejoining with them. The idea that the US would attack North Korea over anything other than nukes has pretty much been laughable. The US invaded North Korea during the Korean War...
