A Bengal actually carries 104 fighters, not 102. I also think a carrier would have more than 2 shuttles. The 104 number might not include the carrier's complement of shuttles and utility craft, it might only apply to actual strike craft.

Yes, I felt the same way. But I guess since the campaign was centered around the success of the 501st they didn't want to do Endor. Maybe they just figured leaving at a high note for the Empire was the best route, and what higher note is there than the Battle of Hoth?

The campaign mode of BF2 follows the missions of the 501st Legion(the troops that went with Anakin into the Jedi Temple. From their clone trooper days and the Rise of the Empire up to their Stormtrooper days and the Rebel defeat at Hoth.
