Looks like you figured it out, but on my parents' computer, they had the video stutter on Prophecy, but the problem went away when they re-installed the CD-ROM drivers (there was some other reason they did this). I'm not quite sure why that fixed it, but the game works like a charm now.

Yeah, Prophecy explosions were a little weird. I much prefer the explosions in Starlancer, but I suppose having a decent story is better than having good explosions. Is this what we were talking about?

My guess is that the sideways perspective gives it a more 3D look. The characters do seem to look better in WC2, even though it came out right after WC1.

Thanks for the manual! Yes, I could have asked, but I really didn't care. The only reason I wanted WC2 is because I'm also getting 3 and 4 (I kind of went on a Wing Commander buying frenzy) and I wanted the story. Plus, it's really cheap.

Who knows about all that, as I am getting it off of eBay. It may have originally come with a paper manual (which I would prefer), but on eBay, items are often incomplete. I'll just be glad if I get the game CD.

Thanks for all the help, everyone. As you may have guessed, I don't have the manual. I figured it out, though, after pushing the various F keys (F1, F2, etc...). I'm bidding for the deluxe edition on eBay, though, and I think that has online documentation (I think...).
