Classic Sierra Collections Finally Released (September 22, 2006)

Please try not to imply that I'm stupid, I take offence to that. If you had taken 5 secounds to search 'leisure suit larry 7 winddows xp' in Google you would have found that other people have found ways to get LL7 to run in XP. It was lazy of Vivendi not include the game.

    Privateer dosbox and XP self-installer

Dosbox is super easy to use if you have a front-end like D-fend. I think it's a good idea for users to figure out Dosbox by themselves. There are a lot of great dos games out there besides privateer, and knowing how to use Dosbox lets you play pretty much all of them.

Speaking of multi-monitor, does FC support widescreen resolutions with proper aspect correction?

Classic Sierra Collections Finally Released (September 22, 2006)

Which is pretty good evidence that Vivendi put 0 work into these packs and is indeed 'milking it'. However, buying these packs is still a good idea IMHO, telling the industry that there is still interest in classic franchises is a very good cause.

    Master of Orion 2

Not really. The stellar convertor can destroy a planet, but it's wasted as a normal weapon. Blowing up worlds to create better planets is just too tedius for me to do. Sure, it's cool for the first couple planets, but the process becomes extremely boring.

    Halo News!

Yeah, the flood does really *really* suck... when will the game companies figure out that *nobody* enjoys killing countless little spider/bug things.

The price will probably drop eventually.

DooM Goes Live (September 27, 2006)

Awesome. Supposedly this version has full 5.1 surrond and enhanced graphics. This could be the best version of doom yet. I wonder if there are any screen shots floating around?

Classic Sierra Collections Finally Released (September 22, 2006)

In this case he does have a point though... throwing in a free opensource dos emulator (instead of updating to WinXP compatibility, like EA would probably do) is a really sleezy way to make a collection. I've heard grumbles on other forums too.

    Master of Orion 2

But it's far harder for the enemy to survive me firing first as long as I have plasma and the right mix of specials. Makes for rather boring space combat late game.

    Master of Orion 2

You misunderstand me. The first person to actually move in combat can completely obliterate the enemy force before it's their turn to act in combat. Plasma, definantly. Even after they drastically lowered its strength in the latest patch it was insanely overpowered. With miniturization you can...

Burn multi-CD (WC) games to DVD?...

Hmmm. I suppose you could also copy all the image files onto a DVD and mount them from there. Still not an ideal solution, but possible.

Space Sim First Look: Project Sylpheed (September 25, 2006)

Ah, now I understand. Yup, thats correct. The developer (until this new one of course) has always been Game Arts though.

    Master of Orion 2

IIRC MOO2 was pretty much hated by fans of the series when it first came out, and gained popularity as time went on. While MOO2 did definantly have some really cool stuff (Dimensional portals! Stellar Convertor!) the interface was pretty bloated compared to MOO1. It took an order of magnitude...

Classic Articles Reveals 1995's Anticipation (September 23, 2006)

It's kind of weird, but I didn't find myself missing the absense of a cockpit in Wing 4 that much. Same with the FS games.

Ah, ok. Looking at the quotations it appears like you did. You may or may not want to edit that.

Space Sim First Look: Project Sylpheed (September 25, 2006)

Have you played Silpheed? All the Silpheed titles to date have been made by Game Arts.

    Master of Orion 2

The great thing about MOO is that the micromanagement never gets tedious. No other TBS can make that claim. Almost all the micromanagement can be done from the main screen with a system of sliders, which makes it easy to manipulate each planet lightning fast. [Sufficient subject divergence to...

Does anyone else find the old ones unplayable...because they can't bare the graphics?

Maybe to apply a graphical filter? That's about the only reason I can think of.
