    WC2 and WC3 ships

I've never seen the Hades in action, but they must be better than the Waterloos, since they're replacing the Waterloos. As for kill scores, they always range into the hundreds. I don't know about you guys but I think I'd have a hard time keeping a straight face if I had to tell someone what...

    Well, now what!.

Hey Wedge, did you ever have any trouble destroying runways in Strike Commander?

Paint the target is one annoying mission. Its not particularly difficult, by my gripe is the fact that they want to use the Fleet Plasma cannon on this trifling force. I mean there's a transport, a destroyer, cruiser and maybe something else. I've actually managed to take out all of them...

    WC2 and WC3 ships

That's not the point. If we only had ships that made a difference, the Kilrathi wouldn't have Dralthis and we wouldn't have wingmen ;)

Heh the best way to win the paint the target mission is to eliminate the fighters first and then fire the disk. Relying on turrets for protection in WCP's a waste of time. You're better off dropping mines or firing FFs.

    Well, now what!.

I like Wing Commander because its fun. Its simple to play, got a solid storyline and the Kilrathi have got some funny taunts. "You pathetic descendant of apes!" Haw haw :D I couldn't stop laughing when I first heard that one. Wedge009: Virgil never quit complaining. I made him so much...

    Greetings, and a few questions.

That sounds just like my university. I often head down to Borders in between lectures just to kill time. BTW does the Sydney Borders have many sales, or just the annual tertiary student discount sale?

That's as it should be. You're job's to fly the bomber and put the torps where they belong.

WC4 turrets were much better than WCP's turrets. The mass drivers on the Thuds, 'Bows and Avengers were pretty effective. Even the Vindicator's laser turret was better than nothing, particularly since it kept a constant stream of laser fire in your face. But yeah, WC2's turrets definitely...

    Black Lance

A race's aggressive tendencies are partly based on physical environment. But I think culture plays a bigger part. The Kilrathi prophecy goes a longer way to explain Kilrathi militarism than just saying their world is unpleasant. Heck the Kilrathi probably consider Kilrah to be a paradise...

    WC2 and WC3 ships

First point: I'm fairly sure George Lucas hasn't explained exactly how the Jedi are destroyed. Second point: Its not an admiral's job to determine what society's focus ought to be.

Especially since they don't have rear turrets, unlike in later WCs... Anyways are you sure you're stuck? It looks like you've got things well under control.

    WC2 and WC3 ships

Heck. I have to replay WC2 and the other older games. I'm forgetting all the details. Beowulf, Agincourt, Hell's Kitchen or was that Heaven's Gate? :(

    Well, now what!.

Strike Commander ruled! Especially the gauntlet. I will never forget this awesome screenshot I once saw. I'm being chased by 2 MiG-29s and 2 Tornadoes. The MiG-29s shoot me down. The Tornadoes shoot the MiGs down. When the screen froze to show the dialogue box, err can't remember what it...

Its always good to see old faces. Anyhow if I were you I'd make very judicious use of the afterburners. And we know Spirit survives since she's in WC2.

    WC2 and WC3 ships

IIRC the Concordia spent most of WC2 and SO1 & 2 without escorts. Surely Confed wasn't in such dire straits that they couldn't pull a destroyer or cruiser to protect the Connie. I mean we're not talking about a garbage scow here, the Connie's a ship worth protecting, particularly since Confed...

    WC2 and WC3 ships

Quarto: But a ship as important as the Concordia ought to have escorts at all times. Assuming that we'll find some 'stray' destroyer' isn't good enough. TC: I know I know. But it doesn't make sense to let such an important vessel wonder around on its own. Surely having a destroyer along...

Space sim games (SW Episode II Spoilers)

LeHah: Give 'em a break. They hardly get any camera time as it is and they're all going to get wiped out in a few years or so :(

    WC2 and WC3 ships

At least the Victory had escorts. The Tiger's Claw didn't and the Concordia's was blown up early and never replaced ingame. Not that the Victory's escorts did that their job completely. I noticed they were conspicuously absent during several defend the Victory missions.
