    Usefulness wise, Vagabond. hands down. he killed fast like nothing else, and stayed alive. for missions where a wingman really made a difference (needed one to make it less than difficult to finish) vagabond almost always made it to the end, and managed to actaully HELP OUT by killing something...

    i'd say go with unreal(X) engine its always being updated, and you can port mods to newer versions. HL is way old and rather limited. popularity is all it really has going for it (but its a lot of popularity though) quake3 has a ton of source code documentation and is more feature packed...

    cache holds data and text text=code section of the program. usually only part of the actual program code is in use and for the most part fits inside the half meg or whatever of cache you have. the data that is in use is also usually only part of all the data inside hte software...

    if they run too fast, you can use something like moslo.exe to run the apps slower. no need to not use it i guess. unless you don't have proper memory management and you can't fit moslo+your app in lower memory. not all dos apps were cpu lagged, some (like, oh, strike commander) were clocked...
