IIRC, the only new bits of technology that the Black Lance had at their disposal were Lances and the Flashpaks. All other ships that the BL used, like the Black Hellcats, were slightly upgraded Black Ops versions of the fighters used by ConFleet.

I liked WC IV because of all of the choices that you were given that could effect the game. I used to piss people off just to see how that would effect later cutscenes. WC II is a definite close second.

I like the WC I Claw the best. The Academy one looked like a cross between the WC I Claw and present day Naval Surface ship. And I thought that the WCM one just looked stupid.

I don't think that stability in space is even a factor. Maneuverability is mostly based on the way that the thrust is vectored. And for that, a computer is needed.
