Battlestar Galactica on SCI-FI.com - WOW!

Agreed, and it bolsters one of my strongest beliefs about Sci-Fi: Most Science Fiction is (unfortunately) bad Science Fiction. That is a big reason why my hopes are high for Galactica.

Battlestar Galactica on SCI-FI.com - WOW!

Mine isn't either, but after the show I gave her a little history lesson about Galactica, how the show originally debuted, the miniseries, the new show, etc. It sort of put the foundation in place, and I think she genuinely appreciated my efforts at including her in something that matters to me...

    Christmas lights are still up

I have but 1 Star Trek ornament (Voyager) and 1 Star Wars (the Falcon). They get the choice spots on the tree. I sure would like to hang a Scimitar or a Thunderbolt in there somewhere too. Hmmm.....

    Really? How's that?

    Christmas lights are still up

My Christmas tree is still up because my girlfriend doesn't want to take it down. She asked if we could just leave it until next year. I would but, it is starting to dry out and it's becoming a serious a fire hazard. Maybe next year I'll buy a plastic one.....

    Wing Commander Movie

Yeah true, but I'd bet most folks here are interested in other Sci-Fi as well- Star Wars, Star Trek, the Alien series, and so on. Me too, so I "rotate" the movies, and every so often the WC film comes up. I really do enjoy watching it after not having seen it for several months.

    Wing Commander Movie

For those of you who made fun of me for only having the VHS version: I finally got the Widescreen DVD- for Christmas! It is on deck in my office movie rotation.

Battlestar Galactica on SCI-FI.com - WOW!

It Aired Last Night So, what did you guys think? I was pleased. I liked both episodes. They did a nice job and I'll tune in again for more. I tried to watch it twice but my girlfriend started getting a little pissed. At least she knows this could become a Friday ritual.

Super Soaker STE Flash Flood Review!

I got mine out and looked: It is an XXP 175. I had to carry it around the house for a while.....

Battlestar Galactica on SCI-FI.com - WOW!

I was 12 years old when the original series aired in 1978. Star Wars had hooked me on Sci-Fi, but once it was out of the theaters the fans were left with the feeling of OK, now what? We had no idea a sequal was planned, but even if we had known, 2+ years was a long time to wait, especially for a...

Super Soaker STE Flash Flood Review!

I have one that I bought about 8 years ago. I was living in an apartment complex across a breezeway from a couple that had two poodles. The owners would leave the sliding door to their screened porch open when they went to work at 7:00am, and those dogs would run outside to the porch, jump up on...

    Kilrathi Saga

That is a pretty good price to pay, I'd say less than what the average buyer forks over. I have 2 copies, an opened one that is missing a couple of small items, that I picked up off of eBay for about $60- this is the copy I actually use. I also purchased an unopened copy from a former Origin...

    Best Buy Graphics Card

Great advice. I replaced a 9600 with a 9800 Pro to play Doom 3 and it works like a champ. Even so, I swapped the 9600 into another machine that was running a 64MB GeForce 3 and it does quite well too. Buying the nicest card your buget will allow for is always the best way to go.

    United States of Europe

Quarto: If you ever leave Poland you should come to the USA. You obviously have a very insightful grasp of Sociology and History. We need all of the intelligent people we can get! I've had the chance to meet several Poles who've come to the US to work- mostly very nice people with a great sense...

Can this guy be truested(WC4, Dual side DVD)!

Yep, the Creative Labs Encore PC-DVD player. I bought one (still using it) but mine came with no WC DVD. I've still got the decoder board but I removed it years ago in favor of using software to do basically the same thing. I too purchased the DVD from this seller. I was sent two that were...

    Privateer 2 Problems

Strange.....No difference in 95 or 98 vs XP? I have read about folks having difficulty getting the DOS version to work in Windows 95, and I'd imagine 98 would be about the same. My guess is that XP would be worse. They experienced many problems varying from mouse and joystick support to...

    Freespace (was HL2 thread)

There are two new boxed "Sci-Fi Sim of the Year Edition" copies of FS2 being offered on Amazon.com for $150.00 each. Wow- I never thought the price for it would rival Kilrathi Saga's. I think I payed $50 or so for mine last year. I should have bought ten!

    Freespace (was HL2 thread)

Interesting thoughts from all of you- on a controversial topic no less. I bought both Freespace games about a year or so ago but haven't tried either one because I decided to replay all of the WC games through instead. Heck, I've never even played Privateer, Armada, or Academy, though I do have...

    Freespace (was HL2 thread)

I know this started as a Half-Life thread, and it has gone all over the place, but now I have an inclination to finally try Freespace..... :D
