yes i still have not had a chance to play privateer since the guy he sold me his copy had errors on the disks but no matter ive ordered another copy is the game as good as they say it is or is it a rather bore?

oh yes i forgot it disables your internal cache to slow the game down i think

in my opinion the older games were the best you know when people grow older they tend to hang on to there youth like myself the first time i played WC was in 1993 it was also the first time i played on the comp, man it was the bomb, finally as i got older i got more influenced to own a computer...

i had trouble myself in WC3 on where to drop the temblor bomb its marked on the map but still theres not target and i end up dropping it and nothing happens oh well i had already seen the ending on the 3DO version cant be any different on a comp

there should be a slow file in WC1 just open the directories up and you should find it i actually made a batch program using IDE with the slow file IDE disables something i forgot though if your interested in finding out just reply back to me that will probably give me the motivation to find out...

Re: More infor on error mine did the same thing jonathon what i did was put the correct irqs in the sound card installation well i did this and it stopped getting the error so somehow chech your irqs and dma settings for your sound card it should help out

i would get the cd but this computer only has a scucci port (or whatever) for a cd rom and the are difficult to find plus it would have to be external

having problems with privateer part one on floppy, while i install the game thru the disks it gives a warning telling me that it failed a CRC check it does this on a few of the disks (im installing thru dos of course) well it actually installs an tells me to type priv at the privater directory...
