From what we've seen in the books the Border Worlders don't even retire their older planes. They just upgrade and refit them until they get shot down or fall apart, especially with Kruger's forces. I don't see how they could be building and designing their own ships since they didn't seem to...

The stealth fighter from Armada was the Shoklar or something like that. It kicked butt compared to the Strakha which is for some reason was made out of wet toilet paper and toothpicks. Personally I always liked the Gothri, both the WC2 and Privateer versions.

Privateer could be the toughest depending on what you're flying. Of course there is always that last SO1 mission, and the WC3 corvettes. But they're just another target once you get rid of that rear gun.
