    Tolwyn: fallen hero or villian?

Please keep the bioweapons away from Frosty. Going back to the original question, is Tolwyn a fallen hero or a villain? He's a human and therefore both.

why was the Arrow's speed lowered after Armada?

For dogfighting the Arrow's the ship you want. Unless there's an Excal in the bay.

    WCP Question

No, Wing Commander is about being victorious in an ongoing conflict. Which usually involves shooting aliens. In this case, the mission objective is achieved (even if it's done in a REALLY annoying way that makes you want to kill Stiletto) but it's still classed as a failure. This isn't just...

    The Eisen

I think the character had been taken as far as he could, any further parts would have been pointless. And after WC4 I don't think Eisen would've kept an active role in the military, he was getting on a bit, had a family, no real threats out there. Don't think he'd been happy with a desk job...

    The Eisen

Isn't it a fairly common naval tradition to name ships after deceased distinguished officers? Eisen would definitely be considered worthy after his actions in WC3 & 4.

    Maniac

It wouldn't have looked very good if Blair had been escorted by a pair of redshirts though. Maybe Maniac & Spyder would've made a more realistic pairing?

    Let's get this straight

5 of them according to my father, who served on one.

    Who would be next?

I'm assuming that Tolwyn had managed to convince Confed to go to war with the Border Worlds in WC4 here. How long would the conflict take before (I'm assuming again here) the Border Worlds would surrender (or worse)? And then, perhaps more importantly, who would be the next target for...

Does the Kilrathi eat human meat?

Sadic: iirc in the book, the Sardaukar were disguised as Harkonnen troops. Forsty: the Bene Gesserit and Fremen were pretty much identifible by the way they behaved, rather than any physical image. Irulan (Virginia Madsen in the Lynch film) was BG trained, and she didn't do the whole black...

    Super Wing Commander

Yes, a very bad one. I was crying with laughter when I first heard it.

    Super Wing Commander

iirc SWC on 3DO had the worse voice talent I ever had the misfortune to hear. Paladin appeared to be voiced by a leprechaun (or another equally bad Irish stereotype). WC3 on 3DO was a great version of the game though.

    Flashpaks

OK, we know there are government agencies and that we will never know what they really get up to. But even if they do perform illegal actions, they don't go around acting like the Lance. Correct me if I'm worng but hasn't George Bush already broken international agreements regarding...

    Wing Commander III Patch

Redwolf, it always used to be that when you bought a game you were entitled to make a backup copy for personal use in case the disks went corrupt. CD-ROMs made this a bit more difficult;) I'd say that if you have bought a legimate copy of the game, you would be justified in burning off a...

A discussion on the true nature of the Nephilim

It's a very valid point though. Remember what Blair says about what separates a warrior from a killer and all that (to Catscratch when you rescue Melek & co). Part of the heroic appeal of characters like Blair is that they are nearly always fighting against the odds. Blair leading Confed...

Does the Kilrathi eat human meat?

It was rather big news in the UK for most of the 90s, and (for some reason) it ended up being discussed way too much when I was at Uni.

    The COST of freedom :)

$8 MIL! You'd need to shift an awful lot of units to make a profit on that sort of investment! That sort of amount's frightening, especially if like me you remember the days of bedroom programmers on the C64.

    Flashpaks

You'd get massive waves of superheated air, melting and vapourising near enough everything in it's path. The superstructure of the ship would remain more-or-less intact (apart from any secondary explosions caused by fuel, munitions etc) but all you'd have left is a lot of scrap metal.

    New Wing Commander Games?

Never played Revolt, but in the original, all you had to do was hide around a corner and torch everybody with flamethrowers as they came around the corner. Until you got the BIG cyborg upgrades... then it was like the police station in Terminator...
