    Epee fans

    The WC2 Epee sucks horribly. Good thing it has particle cannons and DFs. The UE Epee, on the other hand, can be quite good (especially in that First Strike mission), though I still like the Banshee better. The Standoff Epee is said to be hard to hit, but I don't use it much.

    Lucid Dreams

    That happened a lot to me - in fact, virtually every single one of my dreams used to be like this (controlling everything and having the ability to wake up). Then I got hit by a bad disease which affects the neural system. Now it doesn't happen as often. Weird, huh?

    I always thought the starfields were ridiculously pretty in the Vision engine, and they seem to be just as good in FC. :D

    Good point. It's still one of worst ships in terms of manoeuvrability, though (the Jalthi comes first, of course).

    Well, the Rapier is quite good at dodging too, but not nearly as much as the Hornet, so you can indeed run out of AB Fuel if you're facing many tough foes (like Hhriss). As for the Raptor, it's fast and pretty manoeuvrable for a Heavy fighter, but its biggest problem is probably the fact...

    1) It's fast. 2) It's very manoeuvrable. 3) Its guns recharge quickly. 4) It is extremely good at dodging. 5) In fact, it is so good at dodging that saving AB Fuel shouldn't be much of a problem. The WC1 Hornet is one of my favorite light fighters, along with the WC2 Super Ferret.

    Scimitar fans

    The Hornet is actually the best ship in the game (EDIT : I mean in a dogfight - it's of course not the best escort ship) against most enemies... Once you learn how to fly it, you're almost impossible to hit. The Grathas are the only ships that might give you some trouble.

    Yes, of course - I remember you saying that canon = official stuff that's used by EA for their future WC games. What I meant by "fitted nicely with the canon" was that Standoff didn't seem to have any major incoherences regarding said official stuff, unlike, say, Unknown Enemy. ;) Right...

    Well, your original post might have been a bit confusing for him... It did mean to imply that the official WC games *are* the canon, and that comparing Standoff to them in that respect is therefore usless, right? Admittedly I do think "plot coherence" is a bit closer to what he meant to say...

    You know, SO2's last mission and some of UE's missions (on Ace/Hero/Nightmare) are already very, very difficult. If you play UE on Nightmare, you may even get blown up in a scramble mission before you can even launch. No kidding. :p

    The Dralthi Mk2 is a much better ship than the Scimitar. The "Laser" Dralthi is about as bad as the Scimitar (though possibly still slightly better). When computer-flown, you can't help but notice the Scimitar's awful manoeuvrability. It can actually take quite a few hits to destroy it, but...

    (Horribly late reply! Gasp!) Yes, you're right - you have to intercept a strike force that's heading for the Firekka if you didn't destroy the Snakeir. I beat this version of the minelaying mission on Rookie, but never bothered to even try it on Ace. My guess is that it would be horrendously...
